I have to vote for Chico. Big Chico Creek runs right through campus; campus is wooded with footbridges crossing the creek, and paths to walk through the greenery (lots of huge, ancient oak trees, flowers). The rose garden is gorgeous. Beautiful brick buildings. And downtown Chico is immediately adjacent to campus, with a classic downtown look, historic buildings. It has a fun college-town feel.

Sonoma State is fairly near me. I do think the campus itself is pretty, but it’s isolated, and the “town” is Rohnert Park, quite a drive from school and really sort of a commuter suburb of Santa Rosa to the north.

I agree with OceanPoet87 regarding the buildings at SJSU. They renovated Tower Hall and it now makes a nice centerpiece to the campus. The big minus I have (and always had) for SJSU, however, are the deadbeat vagrants who linger around the campus and ask you for money.

Not East Bay I went there for playing at graduation and it didn’t look too spectacular besides the nice hill view and trees but I was only at the outside theater area and music hall but their vending machines were alsome.

Cal Poly Pomona is nice if you like suburbs, concrete, and dry brush fields. If you really want some beautiful green scenery of gigantic redwoods right on the coast, then Humboldt State is for you. It is by far the most beautiful campus and gets my number one vote.

In fact, as I type this I am sitting in my dorm room (I live in the Canyon dorms) and right outside my window are enormous redwoods and gorgeous ivy-covered slopes. A five minute walk from my ream leads me to forest trails at the Arcata Community Forest, which borders campus. A twenty minute walk (or five minute bus ride) would bring me to the Arcata Marsh, teeming with ocean wildlife and a gorgeous shining bay. Away from giant polluted metropolises, the air is much cleaner here, and you will be much healthier and happier living here than among the polluted suburbs in Southern California.

Both my parents went to Cal Poly Pomona when I was a child and I spent a lot of time on their campus, and even throughout my teenage years I went to their campus events. It just does not compare and I really don’t think it deserves to be at the top. Yes, there is a lot of agriculture there; but if you want to see cows and sheep grazing in lush green pastures, they are everywhere here in Humboldt.

Everywhere I go at HSU there is beauty around me; and it never gets too hot, usually around 75 in the summer, and it never gets too cold, so it never snows. The weather is perfect, the landscape is beautiful, and it’s one of the best places I have ever been in my life.

I’ve visited: csulb CSULA CSUSM SDSU csuf. My vote goes to SDSU. But I like long beach too its a very nice campus just not a fan of the city its in, very populated and somewhat poor taken care of.

I have to say Sonoma State. The campus is beautiful inside and out. I love walking around and seeing the lake and the ducks. There are lots of trees and you can just lay outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Humboldt! I happened to pass the campus on my way up to Redwood NP. Too beautiful for words. but you have to love nature to really appreciate it I think. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder.

Just got back from visiting Chico State this last weekend for Preview Day.

It is indeed a beautiful campus. Reminded me of my alma mater, U of Oregon. It looks like a historic campus, and the trees really just give it that extra beauty.

After driving around Cal Poly Pomona, I can’t see the attraction there. It seemed way too spread out and too much concrete.

Sonoma State is quite pretty, but the architecture is a mixed bag.

I haven’t seen SDSU, so will trust folks that it is pretty. But I would definitely put Chico State in the top 3.

visited CSU-Northridge, CSULA, Humbolt, SFSU, SDSU, CSU-Channel Islands, CalPolySLO
Prettiest Campus – Channel Islands. Lovely traditional California Style. New ultra modern libary. We were shocked at how CLEAN and well maintained.
Best athletic facility–SDSU Went to a home game–very fun!
Cutest surrounding town–CalPoly-SLO
Most exciting road trip–Humbolt
Biggest disappointment – SFSU
Largest herds of hectic students–CSU-Northridge
No comment–CSULA

I visited CP SLO, CP Pomona, and San Diego State. SDSU wins hands-down!!! The architecture is beautiful and when I was there everything was in bloom. Being on campus was like being in a park. It’s so well maintained.

Missing a few. East bay, Dominguez hills, Bakersfield, Monterey bay, San Bernardino,
I’ve been to long beach, fullerton, Pomona, Bakersfield, San Bernardino, Humboldt and LA. Humboldt gets my vote. The Redwoods are beautiful.
