I think it’s actually interesting to think about - When you apologize to somebody, you make an assumption that you make an impact on their life, and in an abstract way, that’s actually quite egotistical

I was actually thinking of it from the perspective of things people have said to me that had an impact.
“I’m sorry for what I did” has allowed me to forgive people and find closure.
“I’m sorry for what you’re going through” has been a great comfort at times when I was dealing with horrible situations.
So simple, and yet so elegant.
