First and foremost, Happy mothers day everyone!!! (well, to the moms).

Today my younger s made me cry twice. Got the most incredible notes with (a) a bouquet of flowers and (b) a card with a long personalized note in it. This is the son that kept me on my toes. Good kid, but the one that needed a little closer monitoring, So for all of you whose kids are still turning your hair prematurely gray, There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Happy mothers day everyone!

It will be a very tough day when my wonderful mother is no longer in my life. At 80+, she is still going strong and a great source of support and love. My own D chose to drive back from school (14 hours). She left yesterday. I worried about her (because that’s what moms do) but I told myself: if she gets home safe by Mother’s Day, that’s my gift. And she did :)

Those of you who are fortunate to still have mom to spend the day please treasure it.

My mom passed away this Feb after fighting pancreatic cancer for over a year. This is the first mother day we don’t have her with us. It is very hard… …

Picked up some food and met my bro and his family at my moms for a cookout. We used her house ( she is out of town ) but we brought all the food and cleaned up. Very grateful to be able to celebrate another Mothers Day with her. It’s the simple things. :)

Nrdsb4 like you, my mom died in March and both my kids are at school till next week so I feel your pain. I am just trying to focus on the good memories and looking forward to seeing my kids next week.

In my family, it’s the dog that keeps me on my toes. A healthy dog who eats everything including inedibles. He kept me up all night last night throwing up. He ate a sock without chewing it down to small pieces. After about ten throwups, he finally barfed it out. I expect flowers will arrive in a canine express.

Like so many others I honor my mother’s memory as she passed 4 years ago at the age of 91. Like Dad’s mother, my MIL has been battling pancreatic cancer for 1 year, so we treasure every holiday and milestone that we are able to celebrate with her. As DS 1 will come home from college next Thursday we will celebrate Mother’s Day out to dinner next Sunday. Today we will just grill and enjoy an easy day. Hope all our CC mothers get a bit of pampering.

Whether you celebrate your mom, yourself as a mom - even if you celebrate Mothers Day alone, celebrate that you have had the opportunity to “mother” someone - be that a child, a neighbor, a rescued dog …I personally like to refer today as “Mothering Day” - not everyone gets the chance to be a mom, but most all have “mothered” someone. Cheers to all!

Happy Mother’s Day to all. I’ll be visiting my mother who’s in a nursing home shortly, and hope to hear from both sons some time today. I haven’t had one of my kids home for Mother’s Day for 4 or 5 years. It’s not quite the same.

H and S drove home from college pick up and arrived in the middle of the night… Those first hugs (all eight of them) felt so good after four long months. H and S are soundly sleeping (noon here) and thankfully D has some time off later today so we can all have dinner together. For me, just being together to laugh and share life, is the very best gift. They both pick out beautiful cards and write sweet notes in them. I am blessed to be a mom.

Special thoughts and prayers to those who are missing their mom today. It is very difficult. ((HUGS))

And more thoughts and prayers to those missing their children. I hope you’ll get to see them soon.
