Movies/TV shows that gave you the heebie-jeebies when you were a kid

Branching off the worst movies thread–what movies or TV shows gave you nightmares when you were a kid?

I’ll start it off with mine–the Superman episode with the mole people that come out of the mine, and have that gun that makes the scariest sound–I had to hide in my room with my pillow over my head when that came on (I suspect my brother turned it up to torture me.)

Twilight Zone

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein

Anything with a talking doll or ventriloquist’s dummy. To this day I cover my eyes when I see them.

Alfred Hitchcock - “The Birds”

House on Haunted Hill. Hush,Hush, Sweet Charlotte

The “Miri” episode of the original Star Trek. The “To Serve Man” episode of Twilight Zone.

Dark Shadows! I begged my big brother to let me watch with him and I didn’t even make it through the opening music.

My three scariest things are all here - The Birds movie, Twilight Zone and Dark Shadows!

The original Twilight zone episode in the aiplane with the monster out on the wing. I flew from sitting on the floor with a coke in my hand out of the room in record speed when that window shade went up and there he was. The coke hit the ceiling.

Watched the Birds alone in my room when my parents were having a party. Scared me to death but I couldn’t look away.

Oh, definitely The Birds was one.

Outer Limits.

Wizard of Oz … I still don’t like the flying monkeys.

Wizard of Oz–The flying monkees were scary, but what scared me most was the Hourglass. I kept thinking–turn it over, turn it over! when they rescued Dorothy, because I thought she would die no matter what when the sand ran out.

I was scared by the trees in Wizard of Oz.

The Shining.

The Birds for me, too.

Psycho.
Alfred Hitchcock Presents…
The Brady Bunch
The Outer Limits
Captain Kangaroo

Yes, Grandfather Clock on Captain Kangaroo skeeved me out with the way he’d open his eyes.

Was literally terrified of The Incredible Hulk on TV…was so happy when out large (19 inch-ha!) tv broke and we had to switch to the black and white 9 inch, it was much less scary.

Scary movies for me were poltergist, children of the corn, and the twilight zone, with the little creature out on the wing of the plan…shivers!

My daughters were terrified of clowns thanks to the movie It.

TV movie The Trilogy of Terror with Karen Black (little voodoo doll comes to life and hides under the bed with a knife!!)

and Kolchak: The Night Stalker

As you can see, I’m a child of the 70’s
