MST vs. [Humanities?]

I’ve always referred to anything that was not Math, Science, or Technology as “Humanities.” I was referring to things like literature and writing and social sciences and such. But it just occurred to me that I don’t know EXACTLY what the term humanities refers to. What does it mean? Is liberal arts a better term?

I’m not sure if this is in the right forum (sorry)

Humanities usually includes subjects such as literature, foreign languages, philosophy, and history.

Social sciences include subjects such as anthropology, sociology, psychology, etc.

Liberal arts refers to a curriculum that covers general knowledge and reasoning in a range of fields (science, humanities, social sciences, math), as opposed to technical, vocational or professional studies which are much more directed and specialized.
