I think October 24?
I got a yes from Steinhardt a week or two ago
Has anyone heard from USC, SUNY Purchase, or UCLA for Acting yet?
We heard from Purchase last week
Last year USC was toward the end of January.
Why so late, by that time they will probably loose so many kids interest as they may have either committed or heard back from those early action decisions?
They only call back 50-60 kids… it is nice that you know they have a good shot at the program before you travel for the audition (the USC callback is 2 days). I do think USC admits come out pretty late but I don’t think they have any issues getting kids .
Two years ago it came out in early February so it definitely won’t come out for a few weeks (USC). D heard from SUNY Purchase yesterday
IMO none of the Early Action applications for Theater programs announce “early”, they seems to be March and April no matter what. Break a leg!
Mom of a child pursuing acting BFA programs. Not MT but couldn’t find any straight acting chats. We’re just flying home from our first weekend of auditions. Long weekend. This process is not for the faint of heart!
Nothing yet from USC. My understanding is that UCLA will sometimes do an interview/audition but usually they don’t.
Mine is also pursuing some BFA acting programs as well. She has not had any in person auditions yet. Has several during Chicago Unifieds . And I agree about the process
I know that CMU in-person auditions have started up. Has anyone here attended yet? What was your experience? (Wishing everyone a great and healthy start to the audition season!)
We received USC for MT, they put my D on Acting audition instead not MT.
I had my CMU audition (acting) on Saturday. It was a lot of fun, they had me play around with my monologue and try it 3 different ways. It was definitely a good energy.
I’m new to this thread. My daughter was accepted (early action) to the University of Illinois Lyric Theatre program. Anyone else here considering this program? It is high on her list, and we’d love to learn more about it. She had a fantastic experience touring, taking a sample lesson, and auditioning there. Thanks!
My D had audition for CMU at the NYC Unified this past weekend. She was asked to perform her first two monologues and then was asked to do a third one. The faculty worked with her on her 3rd one and she thoroughly enjoyed this entire process. This was probably her best audition out of all 7 she did at Unified. No time limit, enough time to prep herself once entered into the audition room, use props like chair, mirror, anything she wanted!
Anyone heard from CCM, Penn State, BOCO?
Just heard back from CCM BFA Acting a few hours ago. Not sure if they’re doing acceptances and rejections at the same time, but this was an acceptance.
Does anyone know if CalArts does calls or portal status updates for acceptances? I know that the decisions won’t be out for a few weeks but I have a very anxious D
