Accepted to UTampa for BFA MT!
Has anybody heard from Minnesota? My D just got an acceptance through the school and it said intended major was acting. She is scared it’s just academic acceptance because she thought they were having a second round of callbacks this weekend.
@WowzaWowza Were you able to get some clarity on the communication from Minnesota? Last year, the academic acceptance was separate from the artistic acceptance for my kid. Academic came from the Department of Admissions and just mentioned the College of Liberal Arts and no specific major. Notification for artistic acceptance was a phone call from the program head followed by an email with a form to return to commit. My kid got the academic acceptance before the in-person audition at Unifieds (though this will likely vary depending on when your D applied) and the artistic acceptance came after the post-Unified virtual callback.
Thank you so much! She hasn’t heard anything more and is waiting to reach out at the end of the week, but fingers crossed.
Is it true that UMICH Acting has started to notify?
My son has only heard back from Temple MT. He auditioned on 1/28 at NYC Unifieds. He was notified of his acceptance exactly one week after via email from the director of the program.
Awaiting word from a few others.
I passed the third round for CMU (MT), heard nothing since…is it best to email or wait? Not sure what the protocol is for this!! Anyone know when they start to notify final decisions? Thanks
It’s early still. CMU the past few years has given notice in early March.
Hi, Just out of curiosity what do you mean by third round?
thank you!
Hi, as in I was called back for another audition following the other two (singing, acting) that came after the prescreen pass.
so it was , prescreen, audition and 2nd audition again?
I’m assuming @cheeseball1 means they were asked to stay and go again at their audition session. CMU does call-back in that way.
They do say explicitly that this isn’t necessary for acceptance, and ask for it not to be interpreted as moving forward or being eliminated if you aren’t asked for more. so by what they say, it’s not accurate to think of this as “round 3.” On the other hand, I’ve seen a few parents posting on one of the fb groups (including one apparently of a CMU admitted student) who don’t believe applicants still have a shot if they weren’t called back in this manner.
Last month in my daughter’s acting audition she was asked to do her contemporary monologue three different ways after her first read. She was then thanked and not asked to another panel. We’re taking them at their word this doesn’t mean she was eliminated there - maybe they’d seen all they’d needed to - but in either case I wouldn’t say we have hopes up - expecting a no bc Carnegie Mellon. Psyched just to have gotten past prescreen
This is super helpful to hear your experience too…we’re all just learning on the go! I did not audition in person, and they actually worded it ‘round 3’, but honestly, like you, psyched to have gotten this far in this gruelling process! It’s the waiting that’s the worst…I wonder when they start calls
Ah, may be a difference for virtual auditions. Agreed that it’s cool to learn how the experiences differ. There’s only so much visibility we’re given on their process and the rest is just guesswork!
Any news?
nope. still waiting… as far as I’m aware, calls haven’t gone out yet?
Any update?
I too went to all of the rounds and am still waiting to hear. I haven’t heard about calls going out so I’m assuming they haven’t? Historically yesterday or today was the day but I’m unsure.
yes i was wondering the same - I wonder when they’re going to call? I’d be surprised if they left it for a few more days? Has anyone heard from Michigan as well?
