I heard back from umich but for acting
ah, okay. Do you mind me asking if that was today? I did MT but I’m wondering if they’ll come in batches
Feb 18 or 19!! I can’t remember
Via the MT Parent facebook group, CCM, UMich & Coastal Carolina have all made notifications today
Has anyone heard from UNCSA or SUNY Purchase yet?
My child heard a no from UNCSA on Feb 22. I think that’s a place you can probably reach out to if you haven’t heard by now because they said at their auditions to expect to hear in February. I’ve seen other parents reporting decisions for there as well.
We’re still waiting on Purchase’s decision notification but a few people did receive yeses from them on Feb 28. At the on-campus audition, an admissions counselor said all decisions will be out by March 15.
Anyone hear from Penn state or cmu yet?
Yesterday PSU “YES”'s, today "NO"s on MT parent fb group.
heard from CCM, auditioned 2/10
also heard from BW today around 5pm like they said they would!
AND heard from university of colorado boulder yesterday
busy start to the week, that’s for sure!
hope it was all good news!! did CU boulder email or just update portal?
I’ve heard nothing from PSU r you sure?
yes, thanks! an acceptance and a waitlist!
boulder sent an email, as of yesterday i do not think they updated the portal to reflect my decision yet…
(it was regarding BFA MT though, i don’t think their BM decisions have come out yet?)
they explained at my audition that they would send some initial decisions (few early yeses, many nos) and then would review the remaining applicant pool as a whole as to not favor earlier auditions. my assumption is that if you haven’t heard they are still looking at the audition and that’s a good thing?
but please take that with a grain of salt, reminder that i’m a random person on the internet!
Cmu?
Anyone heard anything?
Hey all. Long time lurker-- I’m a transfer student this application cycle for some BFA Acting programs. The Drama Major forum is… silent haha. Thought I throw in my two cents here and hope it helps. While I am a Acting applicant and a transfer, a couple of the programs I applied to are conservatory/4-year programs (USC,UMN-Guthrie, and CMU specifically).
At final callback weekend for USC’s BFA Acting major, the admissions director said they are teetering between sending notifications March 22nd or March 25th. They also said there is no waitlist for their BFA. They also said some students who didn’t make it to the callback for the BFA will still be accepted into the BA Theatre major. Some people from the BFA callback could be accepted with a BA redirect if they listed it on their application, but they will also reject some of the people at callbacks. They said they called back 200 out of approx. 1700 applicants.
UMN-Guthrie confused me since I didn’t receive an invitation to their callback weekend and wasn’t accpeted into the BFA. I got an acceptance e-mail though “with the intended major of Acting” but thought it was a mistake… Reached out to the University and they let me know I was accepted academic into the BA Theatre program, not the BFA. They confirmed if you did not attend callbacks, you were not in consideration for the BFA program.
I’ve also believe CMU should release by April 1st. Haven’t e-mailed admissions about an exact date, but maybe late march? Who knows!
I’m going to go relax with a good book, keep my mind off the calendar, and enjoy some rest after this crazy process ![]()
I just received an acceptance letter from Molloy/CAP21!!!
Any update from Penn state or Carnegie Mellon
Penn State should be out by now, and CMU should be later in the month.
Has anyone gotten results from Oklahoma City yet?
