Muggles v. Wizards

If there were a global war, who would win?

Advantages of Muggles
Airplanes, Bombs, Reconnaissance, Communications, Number of People, Firepower, Resources

Advantages of Wizards
Apparition, Cloaking, Ability to hide, Killing Curse, Mind Control, Shielding Charms

Well, wizards don’t exist… so, clearly we won

All it takes for humans to win is a bunch of people going into an underground bunker and one army general to push a big, red button.

The Wizards could easily take out Muggle world leaders. No contest. I think wizard communications systems need a ton of work though, and are unrealistically primitive in the books.

As an aside, when I first saw the thread title it occurred to me how much of a parallel there is between the proletariat in 1984 and the muggles in Harry Potter.

Op 40 v Spetznaz
If there was a global war, who would win?

Advantages of Op 40
Nuclear weapons, Valkyrie rockets, claymores, ballistic knives, chopper gunners

Advantages of Spetznaz
Pilot an Attack Helicopter, C4, China Lake, Crossbow, Nuclear weapons

Black Ops! Haha. Good one. Amazing game.

I doubt it would be difficult to cast a mass Avada Kedavra.

Nah, the wizards would wipe each other before they can decide on killing the muggles.

That would be a lame battle. A wizard would just apparate into say… Obama’s oval office… with the cloaking charm on and cast a memory charm on him. The wizard could make Obama do anything. Obama could surrender, disarm the nukes, or attack his own people. The same could be done to all the other world leaders.

Can “Protego” deflect bullets? Or only magic?

^Umbridge used it on an arrow, so it would probably work on bullets too.

We don’t have a chance.

ThisCouldBeHeavn is right. Wizards don’t really pay much attention to Muggles unless we become annoying and hard to ignore. And when that happens, they can sort of just stamp us out of existence. Whooo.

except very few wizards are powerful enough to cast the killing curse while anyone can shoot a gun. Guns fire instantly while shield charms take a few seconds to cast. Apparition is not instant and you can still get hit in the process of it.

I don’t think one must be a powerful wizard in order to use the killing curse. It never said anything about that in the books… I’m pretty sure anyone can use it.

SPOILER

Look at poor Dobby :(

mark is right, its not about power its about killing intent.

So true. I think with the whole "I can become Invisible and Muggles are oblivious to everything (they can’t even see the Knight Bus!) would make it pretty hard for us.

Dammit.

Uh HELLO! Did you see Voldemort and his Deatheaters take out that bridge in the 6th movie!? Wizards win.

We don’t stand a chance. :p

weeezards!!

i have to second the hairy lemon. Voldemort would totally take out all the muggles.

no you could just shoot any wizard with a gun you kill them
