Murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO

Lots of criminals are just dumb, either from sheer lack of mental ability or from brilliance leading to overconfidence and stupid mistakes.

Valedictorian of his high school class and U Penn grad…Doesn’t sound dumb.

Perhaps the ancient Greeks were right about hubris.

I’m going to guess that a UPenn grad with a STEM degree can easily 3D print himself a gun.

it’s luigi.from.fiji on Instagram, public account still. Looks like a dude who likes to travel and hang with his fraternity bros. He follows Joe Rogan and Andrew Huberman.
Obviously something radicalized him but the Instagram account shows a pretty standard-looking lifestyle of an Ivy grad with his background.

Could have been here on CC even

His name sounds like something you’d see in the sopranos

Interesting the news is discussing a cousin. Where is his immediate family?

“ Imagine successfully evading a nationwide manhunt only to get caught trying to order some chicken nuggies from McDonalds…”

Most people do not ordinarily engage in high profile assassinations, so it would not be “common” sense to know how to do so without risk of getting caught.

Mangione is definitely a Sicilian name but that kid looks more like a J Crew model than a made guy to me.

If you knew my name IRL you might make that assumption about me/my family.

Some Italians do.

His real and fake names would blend right in where I live in NJ.

Italians are pretty famous for their good looks, no dispute there

The suspect sure does check all the upper-middle-class achievement boxes - valedictorian, Ivy League, fraternity etc. I really wonder what got him to this point.

HAHA SAME (south jersey here)

And I was thinking more frat boy looking then J Crew model but now that its said, I can see it. Sad. I mean, obviously bright and a hard worker to have those accomplishments… what went wrong in his world.

Not upper middle class - he’s a rich kid.

“use of drones helped with the investigation”. For those in NJ, not sure how much your social media feeds are discussing all the drone activity going on. Wonder if it’s related.
