I saw this too. I wonder if they know this much detail from a fake ID?
You really can’t go anywhere these days without leaving breadcrumbs behind, this guy seems pretty thorough. It sounds like he always wore a mask, other than when he flirted with the girl at the hostel front desk. He always paid in cash. He’s traveling by modes that don’t require identification. He could be anywhere by now.
I also think the bullets are a red herring. But I’m wondering if he was going to give info to the feds on the insider trading/fraud case.
The NYPD advised corporate security officers several hours post the murder that they believed it was a targeted attack. At that time they offered no further insight as to what the motivation of the “targeting” was. This clearly left the possibility that his job title may have been a factor.
They did however remind all “high profile” staff to be vigilant and follow some safety precautions that most c-suite staff sometimes follow in conjunction with their organizations security teams advice.
I wont go into specifics but an example would be under “normal” circumstances an executive might exit a car in front of their place of business, under current circumstances they will pull into a loading area to enter the building.
The fact that this unfortunate CEO was this casual in arriving at a well publicized public event is a bit surprising. Obviously an assassination or violence is thankfully rare, but protesters and hecklers are extremely common so I am shocked he allowed himself to be that vulnerable (and of course I am not blaming him, just saddened).
I have a friend who was something like a VP of communications for a major automaker, and i was surprised to learn that even at that level he had things like secured underground parking at work. Once you hit a certain level, things seemed really locked down.
It’s typically a function of job title and external visibility. For instance the VP of communications may be quoted in publicly available media or appear even as a contact for an upcoming event. Either way they are then closely associated with the “brand” and industry so may need some degree of security.
In my experience it isn’t however a lot of people at most companies that require security.

Wonder who the poor soul is whose identity the shooter used to get the Greyhound bus ticket and stay at the hostel? That person must have had a scary phonecall/visit!
Really good fake IDs are available online, and you can put any name you want on them. It’s likely it came back as completely fake.

He arrived 10 days early… if he stayed in a hotel did he pay cash? 10 days in NYC is not cheap!
From all I’ve read, he always paid for everything in untraceable cash, so he was being pretty careful in that regard.
