The backpack has been located in Central Park.

I suspect that will have DNA on it too, unless he threw it in the water.

It’s a race to escape the country.

I have a feeling that someone who stayed in a youth hostel in NYC doesn’t have the means to flee the country.

People can be so awful.

Staying in a cheap hostel may have been more to enable paying for it (as well as everything else) in currency and coin without having to carry large amounts of it.

He had a $279 backpack, his gun and silencer were likely $2k+ and he spent 10 days in NYC buying everything with cash. He probably can make it happen if he does it quickly.

My S sometimes stays in hostels, even though he also sometimes stays in 5* hotels. It doesn’t mean one doesn’t have the means if one chooses to stay in a hostel. Who knows where this person has disappeared to?

CNN says he left central park at 77th, rode to 86th st (thats where my mom grew up!), and grabbed a cab to the busy GW bus terminal (that’s like 5 mi north) and then either hopped a bus out of town there (or to Port Authority terminal and then out).

That is gonna have DNA on it.

The shooter’s actions seem to be very meticulously planned. The escape route through the Ziegfeld alley then up through the park then out at 77 and then grabbing a cab on Amsterdam to go north… all that had to have been rehearsed, right?

The shooting happened at 54th & Sixth Ave at 6.44 and he was in a taxi at 86th & Amsterdam by 7am. That can’t just be dumb luck.

What happened to the bike when he got in the cab?

He was seen on the bike at 86 & Columbus at 7 am and then getting into a cab at 86 & Amsterdam at 7.04, so the bike must have been ditched on 86th in those 4 minutes?

I’m guessing someone in NYC was happy to steal that bike…

Maybe they found it and turned it into the local lost and found.

86th and Columbus is a nice part of town. Maybe not pick on New Yorkers. Especially right now.
