I’ll wait for it to show up on CNN eventually. With primary season around the corner, my video rental center could get it first.
Having finished it, here are my impressions -
I like Don Henley and Glenn Frey. And I don’t have a problem with them making more than the rest. They were the writers / hit makers.
Joe Walsh is a lovable nut job. He reminds me of Sean Penn in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Timothy B Schmit seems like a sweetheart. Physically he reminded me of Weird Al Yankovic.
It seems like Glenn Frey overreacted to the Cranston incident but Don Felder didn’t really strike me as super critical to the band’s success.
Randy Meisner struck me as nice as well and his vocals on TITTL are great. Bernie Leadon seemed to be kind of a cipher along with Don Felder.
Do any of you remember that Glenn Frey played the coach or manager of the football team Cuba Gooding’s character played for in Jerry Maguire? I thought he was pretty good.
Remembering waaay back, Glenn Frey played some roles in episodes of Miami Vice and wrote some of the music for that show also.
And yes, he and Don Henley were the song writers. They did deserve more than the others. From watching the documentary I was impressed with what a good businessman Frey was.
I had a DVD of an Eagles concert that got lost in the shuffle when we moved. Does anyone recall the name of it ? I think I got it in 2003 or 2004
The Eagles Farewell tour in Melbourne is great on DVD or Blu-ray. As usual, Joe Walsh steals the show.
Joe Walsh played some of his own solo career songs as we were walking out of the concert we saw. He is quite a performer
So sad to read that Randy Meisner’s wife just passed away, from a gunshot wound she suffered while moving a weapon within a storage cabinet. I heard Meisner interviewed a while back and despite his issues, he sounded like a pretty thoughtful person. I am very sorry for his family.
