Musical Theater College Admission 2025

I’m not sure which schools you’ve heard from or still need to hear from, but if you don’t get the results you’re hoping for, and this is truly what you want to do, a gap year is a fantastic idea. Take the time to train, and then try again next year. Lots of people do it, with great results. It was definitely something we talked about before beginning this process.

Hi! Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I have been following this thread as my son is currently a junior in high school. We are considering attending the ITF auditions this June, but we are wondering if a rejection through ITF auditions prevents him from auditioning directly or through Unified later. Thank you, any input is apprecieated!

Hello! I’m an Acting applicant (not MT) but wanted to pop onto this thread as it’s much more active than the one I’ve been on for Acting.

This process has been quite the undertaking but I’m deeply grateful to have received some exciting offers. Still waiting on BU, DePaul, NYU, Northwestern (BA), and Syracuse.

Wishing the best of luck to everyone as more decisions come in over the next few weeks. Echoing those who have said that we will all end up where we’re meant to!

I did ITF auditions last summer and no it does not prevent you from auditioning directly later on

I know some Webster yeses went out, anyone know if another group will come out or if they are just down to no’s and waitlists?

Thank you so much for this info. In your opinion, was it worth the trip to audition? Did it help alleviate some things with the application process?

I know of a few people who received rejections from ccm last week, so do we think they have another batch of acceptances and waitlists coming out this week?

^^^i meant to reply

I am hoping some more acceptances will come out from CCM this week as early as Monday based on my conversation with admissions office.

I think it’s most likely that CCM’s offers and waitlists are complete. They tend to release them first, then rejections later.

Anyone know if CMU does calls in waves or did they just do them early this year? I was told they wouldn’t have all decisions out until the 16th?

I have no idea but my daughter continues to receive emails from them so we are confused. Has anyone heard a no from CMU?

CMU called their offers and waitlists on March 1. I don’t think they do offers in waves. I suspect they will send out rejections this week.

We just got our Otterbein acceptance email!

Could be in waves. I know someone who got accepted on Thursday. Fingers crossed

Are you waiting on acting or MT?

Interesting. I know someone who got accepted to CMU on March 1 and they were told all offers and waitlists were called that day.

My Shenandoah portal just updated from “awaiting decision” to “awaiting confirmation” but I haven’t heard anything else. Anyone know what this may mean?
