Westwood is lovely though. Fight On ![]()
My son was accepted into the BFA Pace for fall 2025. I wish I found this thread sooner. Queston: he received a merit scholarship with Pace, does anyone know if they add a theatre scholarship as well?
He was also accepted to OU BFA but kindly rejected. Pace was his #1
Congrats too all the kids that were accepted. This was a rigorous audition process!!! ![]()
Still holding out hope for USC!
I think we are nearing the end!! Waiting on NYU, friends are still waiting on BOCO- what else is left?
We are waiting on NYU (3/26), USC (3/26) and IU (???). ![]()
Im still waiting on Boco, Hartt, NYU, and USC!
Hartt will be relaeasing decisions on April 1st.
Forgot to update the forum re: Syracuse response for my daughter. She got REJECTED. She had lots of demonstrated interest, but sadly didnāt have the best audition in Chicago. She was bummed, but I could never see my CA girl heading to upstate NY anyway. Big week next week for those waiting on NYU and USC ![]()
My daughter did not hear from Syracuse yesterday. No portal update. Anyone else?
General question: Iām biased as an alum, but why did anyone apply to USC for BFA MT? Curious what drew people to the program. What are the major selling points, in your opinion? Thanks ![]()
Hi! Congratulations to your son! Have you checked the financial aid portal. My son was waitlisted for their international acting, but also got into the Honors program. Because he is technically admitted, he has all his financial docs online through the portal. The school seems generous so Iād assume they will count all the scholarships in the equation. Side note that I have heard/learned is that sometimes, if you call or write the finance dept they might add more to the scholarships in hopes to seal the admission.
Hey! We didnāt do any UC/California schools. Iām positive itās amazing though. I grew up in Sacramento and I know how beautiful and fun Southern California is ![]()
I did find this video on USC MT and thought and you might like it!
First, thank you! I reached out to admissions and they told me they are still putting his financial packet together and to check back. I have my son log onto his portal daily. This was my sonās #1 choice, we already placed the enrollment/housing deposit. Iām just an impatient mom trying to calculate all finances before I have a real number LOL
Ah, yes. One of many YT vids weāve seen. Appreciate the response ![]()
My son did not end up applying, but was seriously considering it because of all the film opportunities that could potentially come with admission. He loves the idea of voice acting and motion capture especially and you canāt find that everywhere. The USC film program is insane. Lol. He did not end up applying simply because it was so far away. I think ultimately he would have been fine, but he decided against it. And now he could potentially end up in California anyway
Just goes to show that you shouldnāt let fear dictate the application process!
Hi! Does anyone know when Hartt is releasing Musical Theater results? Someone said April 1st but I am not sure if this is true.
Hey Everyone! How we doing? I found out that the Oklahoma Drama audition at Chicago was a pre-audition?? As in an audition to then be invited to the campus to audition. With that news we are letting any OU dreams go. Officially waiting on NYU and Emerson now. With his MT offers, idk if Emerson Theatre Performance is really on the table anymore. Iām researching NYU - of course the $$$ will be a conversation. Itās hard to tell how well they set students up to have work at NYU? Does it just organically happen? Any insight? Of course, if heās denied/rejected then itās not even a topic, but just in case - anyone know someone there? How do they do with launching/support into the career?
And just an update on Emerson - we havenāt heard anything bc they were waiting on a recommendation letter
I think itās turned in now, so weāll see how soon they send him a decision ![]()
My D is on the NYU waitlist so Iāve been trying to investigate if itās worth the cost should she get in. She really wants to get off but who knows, some years they go to the WL and sometimes not. From what I gather the network is strong, but there may be more opportunities for diverse students. No idea if thatās true, just what I read.
