This is my first semester at UVA and I’m in love! I’m a third year transfer and feel like I’m at a slight disadvantage because I didn’t get to experience my first two years here, but I want to leave UVA feeling like I did everything in my hands to experience UVA as fully as I could.

I need your help compiling a list of everything UVA students must do, experience, be a part of, get involved in, at UVA and/or Charlottesville to be able to say they had the full UVA experience.

^^^^^ Sorry, I didn’t mean to rain on your parade or quell your enthusiasm. I’m not sure I could add to the current list, but back in my day (mid 70’s) the list would have included…

Order a “Grillswith” at the UD (University Diner)

Buy a pair of khaki’s from Eljo’s

I’d love to see how the lists changed over the decades.

Enjoy the rest of your time at UVa…sounds like you’ll make the most of it!

There’s actually an app for your SmartPhone that allows you to check off things that have been done/need to be done. Our daughter has certainly received an…uh…eyeful this year as a lawn resident. I think what surprises me is that sometimes, according to her, girls and boys streak together. I wonder how long it is from the Rotunda to the Homer statue and back? I’m a runner, and I would venture to guess it’s close to a half mile. It’s certainly not a tradition for the out-of-shape. I remember when I was there for the opening football game this fall (lightening delay)…the BYU families certainly couldn’t have been prepared for what all their self-guided walking tour included. ;)

JC - It’s 740ft each way according to my ‘sources’. I’ll never forget the look on your face when we saw those kids in the rain from your Ds room. Priceless. :)
