<p>My favorites were in the elections and politics forum, so…</p>
<p>I like checking out bogleheads.org, but only from time to time. Whitecoatinvestor is also interesting, but they are a bit rich for my blood (and often significantly younger).</p>
<p>So I had heard some CC people started their own political forum. Does that still exist?</p>
<p>I really liked that political subset here. For the most part it was very intelligent discourse. It really helped me to understand why people had such different views than mine. I miss that.</p>

<p>Me, too. I missed the oppotunity to hash out the differences. Some people are partisan and it can end up in shouting match. Or we can be open to differing views.</p>

<p>Yes it still exists, @sax. Started out very active, but has been very quiet lately. On cc, you get a much greater number of people with differing views, which makes things more interesting. I used to be pretty one sided, but after listening to other people’s arguments, I’ve become far more moderate.</p>
<p>I sometimes go to the discussion page of the decorating forum on gardenweb in the home forums or to the hot topic forum on gardenweb which gets political but it isn’t as good as the old cc political forum.</p>

<p>Can someone tell me where the politics folks are hanging out? I liked the Pollitics subforum, too, for the same reasons - intelligent posts from people on the other side.</p>

<p>I too like Gardenweb, but felt so apologetic when I ordered an OTC (over the counter microwave). I miss the political thread on CC </p>

<p>cruise critic (when I am thinking about a cruise) , disboards when I am thinking about going to disney- they also have a community board where you can discuss anything. </p>

<p>I also enjoy citydata and (my favorite other than this site) apartment therapy. It’s a home decor site but it’s not all about apartments.</p>
<p>I was super into the IMDb Lost forum back in the day. We never talked about Lost and eventually got a private forum going. Those were the days.</p>
