My Chances of Admission?

<p>I’m extremely interested in the field of biology, and am seriously considering taking a premed track in college. W&M seems to fit me very well. I visited my freshman year, and absolutely fell in love with the campus and feel of the school as a whole. </p>

<p>Just wanted to know exactly what my chances of getting in are, seeing as i am considering applying ED to W&M. Thanks!</p>

<p>Sounds like you have a lot of competitive qualities. The research you’ve done would be worth some explanation in your application. With W&M’s emphasis on undergraduate research, we enjoy reviewing similar work that high school students have done. It demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a unique academic drive.</p>

<p>Is there a reason you’ve only taken 3 years of Russian? I suspect it’s because it might be all that’s offered? If that’s the case, let us know that since we generally prefer to see students complete the fourth level of a single foreign language.</p>

<p>You sound very well rounded and balanced in both your extracurricular and academic accomplishments although it’s hard to get a context for your GPA given it’s on a 100 point scale (those vary greatly). My guess is you’re a mostly A-student which is great.</p>

<p>Keep in mind that the selective nature of our process (especially OOS) means that we cannot admit everyone who is qualified but you’re someone who fits a lot of our profile characteristics and we’d encourage you to apply.</p>

<p>If W&M is your first choice and you’re okay losing the ability to compare financial aid/scholarship packages, applying ED can only be to your benefit. The pool is far smaller so it’s much easier to stand out and the acceptance rates are generally higher (upper 40s compared to lower 30s).</p>

And yes, my school only offers a single russian of 25 students to a class of 300 students in senior year. However, I did do rather well on the Russian Regents (state test of NY), as i scored a 98. I’ll be sure to note that in my applications. </p>
