teacher recs:: ap world history (glowing) and honors bio and ap bio (same teacher—glowing)

couselor: not so good…i was suspended…twice…someone cheated from me and i was blamed, the second time was a piece for ap english, a savage machiavellian piece of argument…it was denounced as EVIL by the school board…:-/ but she does like me as a person, she’s just baffled by my artisy personality (i know this doesn’t make any sense but just take it for what it’s worth…)

ps. i’ve heard the ivy league adds 150+ points to your SAT if your a minority, will this still happen to me? cuz if it does ill end up higher than anyone i know

and of course, im applying regular decision

thanks for reading, hope to get some replies

Not that i’m an authority of any kind on this subject, but I’ve said this for many others

what’s your hook? what distinguishes you from the crowd?

Oh wow, I would seriously rethink the 8 essays thing. Even if you’re the most fascinating person in the world! Think about this: tAdcom has thousands of RD apps to sort through in a short amount of time. Don’t irritate them.

they tell you to send more essay if you feel like it, look at the supplement

Yeah, but they don’t mean 8 of them! In my app, I sent an extra essay about my most important EC. But I think 2 or 3 is a good limit.

Haha, but I haven’t gotten in yet. What do I know.

They say you can send an extra essay; I’m pretty sure they do not want multiple additional essays. If you really feel they are an asset to your application, you have to do what you have to do, but I would suggest sending no more than 2 extra essays.

But like sunglasses, I don’t know if I’m in yet so I’m certainly not an authority. :p

“additional essayS…if there is something you would like us to know…you may do so.”

k, go for it. I’m not really sure why you’re asking us for advice on your chances if you don’t want constructive criticism! But seriously, good luck. You’ll be fine.

:)

Write an essay on your socialist beliefs. Emphasize your rebellious spirit(suspensions, etc.) In short, convince the Harvard adcom that you are the next Che Guevara. ■■■■■.

haha

no, my “rebellious spirit” is more akin to Paine’s

ooo awesome! finally, i’ve found another clarinetist applying to harvard… so what pieces are you sending? i’m curious :stuck_out_tongue: good luck!

weber #1 good luck to you too :)

i dont like it when people ask for advice, and not end up following or taking them. if you know you’re right, then why bother asking for confirmation and validation? And if it isn’t what you like to hear, then don’t ask it.

i did not ask for any advice

i merely asked about my chances. i couldn’t change anything now even if i wanted to. my application was sent on friday.

in light of your counselor’s report, i find it very very unlikely that you will get in.

finally someone answered

thank you, and i agree

but then again, my best friend’s brother was accepted into princeton after having been EXPELLED in the middle of the year, so he had to explain, and they understood

can we see your evil essay?

I also would like to see your essay.
The counselour rec is really going to hurt.
I find it awesome that you got a 800 on the US SAT II. I made a 5 on the AP and a 690 on the US SAT II. I find it surprising that you made a higher verbal than math when you had to learn english several years ago. The math SAT II is also going to hurt, but I wish you all of the luck.
The DNC volunteer will be an interesting addition. I was a GOP volunteer, so I don’t know how well political EC’s pan out.

i went on a rage and deleated it

perhaps im not emotionally stable enough to attend harvard

oh well, there’s always berkeley

or maybe my couselor won’t even mention it, since she’s new–the one who suspended me left two years ago
