Next year, I will be a sophomore. My school has an IB program and magnet program. As a part of the magnet program, every year I have take a business class. I was wondering if I should take Business Information Management or Pre-IB Computer Science. I want to learn more about technology, but I heard that Computer Science is really hard.
I would suggest Pre-IB CS. It has more potential (most students who study computer science have had exposure in high school, whereas it’s totally unnecessary to have hs business classes if one wishes to major in business or economics, a strong math background is more important.)
take info management it is more useful 4 u if u r in a busness program
If you’re able to handle it, I would take Pre-IB Computer Science. This class will help you for when you apply to college. Taking Pre-IB Computer Science will make you look more competitive, and it seems to align more with what you like (technology). Could you take the one sophomore year, and the other junior year? Is that an option? If not, I’d still take Pre-IB Computer Science.
@LionKing2398, every year I only have to take one and this year I have to choose between these two. I originally chose the Business Information Management, but I think I will change it to Comp Sci.
@univbound101 Oh okay, I didn’t realize that. Yeah, I think that it would be a smarter decision to take Computer Science. If you’re planning on applying to top schools, then I think that this class could help you down the line. It’s more impressive than a regular class (especially since you’re a sophomore). Hope this helps!
