i am so sorry. i found this thread a few days ago and i have been following it since. what a courage woman and a wonderful mother. i am lost for words.

Like many others I have been following this thread for well over a year. The courage, strength, and wisdom shown by sunrise was overwhelming to experience even if just through her posts…I felt like she touched my heart even though I never knew her IRL.
I think many of us suspected that she had taken a turn for the worst despite our many prayers in the past month. Thank you so much for taking the time to post here at such a difficult time in your life. I can certainly see why sunrise was so incredibly proud of her boys and it is just another example of what incredibly loving and selfless young men sunrise and her husband raised…
I hope our cumulative prayers, well wishes, and virtual hugs continue to surround both sunrise and her amazing family in the days ahead.

Sailingwest, I am sorry to read about your mom. Your mom, your dad, your brother and you are in my thoughts.

I found your mother’s posts to be inspirational.

Sailingwest, please know how deeply your mother has touched so many of us who only know her through her honest and thought-provoking writings. She has left us less afraid of what life may bring. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Sailingwest–your kindness in posting shows us you have a similar strong and generous spirit like your mother. May you always have her words to hold close to your heart. Sending love to all of you, love that your mother inspires…

Sailingwest, bless you for posting here where your mother’s wit, intellect, heart and depth made her beloved by her fellow parents around the nation.

Blessings and love to you and to your brother, comfort for your father. Peace for your lovely mother.

We embrace you and affirm her love for you.

Sailingwest,
Is it possible to know someone through internet posts? Probably not, and yet I felt I knew some part of SunriseEast. I was often moved by her love of life and family and what seemed to me to be a basic goodness and wisdom. She continues to be an inspiration.

Sailing west- Thank you for posting your poignant update. Your mother’s posts reflect so much respect and appreciation for her family, as well as a meaningful approach to life and a generous nature. Wishing all of you strength, peace and community.

Sailingwest: I too send my condolences to your family. One thing struck me from the very beginning: “My diagnosis of advanced cancer. how do I help my kids?” What an incredible gift. She loved you and her concern was for you. Your mother gave you her greatest gift: to know love, to give love and to receive love.

sailingwest, thank you for letting us know. We are all so sad. But grateful that your mom has such peace. Strength, peace, and love to your family.

Sailingwest - thank you so much for letting us know. I can’t believe how hard I am crying over this news. While we never met, she touched and inspired all of us and she will never be forgotten. Peace and comfort to your family and friends.

Sailingwest, we will keep your family in our thoughts. Thank you so much for letting us know.

Sailingwest,

Thank you for updating us on your mom. May you always remember what a wonderful selfless, gracious, amazing woman that you and your brother have for a mom. We will continue to hold you and your family in our prayers.

It is my hope that when the time comes, that she is met by another CC friend whose, thread that she has probably posted on (LTS).

Sailingwest, thank you for letting us know. Your mom is leaving a tremendous legacy, to you, your brother and father, family and friends, and to those of us who knew her only through CC. As redglasses said “she has left us less afraid of what life may bring.”

You and your family will be in my thoughts in the days to come.

Dear son, thank you for sharing. Prayers and peace to your family.

If only bravery, courage, selflessness, and love were always rewarded with long life!

Thank you for the update on your mom. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Sailingwest–you and your brother will have amazing lives. I know this because of what I learned about your mother, and what I’m sure she taught you. I am sorry for your loss.

Prayers for peace and comfort. Your mom is an amazing woman!

Sailingwest,

Prayers to you and your family. I have been following this thread for over a year now…getting inspiration from your mother in ways you cannot imagine.

I lost both my parents last year…my mother very, very tragically and my father a few months later after a very long, very valiant battle with Alzheimers. Coincidentally, my 5 siblings and I all said that their deaths did rescue them. When I read your quote from your mother, chills just covered my body.

During some of my darkest days your mothers inspiration and optimism pulled me thru.

May you and your brother soar like eagles in your lives and know that your both mother and fathers’ strength and wisdom is the wind guiding you.

In my prayers…

Good-bye, sunrise. Thank-you for sharing your journey with us. You have enriched our lives and your spirit will live on in all of us.

Thank you for posting, sailingwest. I’m holding you, your beautiful mom, and the rest of your family in my thoughts. Peace.
