Sailingwest,
Thank you for taking the time to post at this difficult time. I followed your mother’s courageous battle. Her love for you, your brother and father shone through every word.

Sailingwest,

Thank you for taking the time to post, and for giving us the gift of knowing that your mom is at peace. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Sailingwest, I am so sorry to hear this news. I had already begun to miss her and figured that we might not hear from your mom again, to my regret. All the posters on this thread know how much she loved her sons and her husband, and hopefully, you will be able to find comfort in that. I have followed this thread from the beginning, and, as do many others, I admire her courage, her spirit, and attitude.

I lost my dad way too soon, and it came as a sudden shock. Although any such loss is very difficult to take, having seen my own mother and MIL decline and suffer before each died, albeit at an old age, I believe that the relief to suffering, does at some point become the lesser evil.

To have lived well, and with style - an inspiration to many - a great legacy.

Bless you, and my prayers are with your family.

thoughts are with you and your family sailingwest

Sailingwest - thank you for taking the time to update us all. More people followed this post than you can imagine. Many of us have read along without ever posting. My father passed at a very young age nearly 4 years ago.

Your mom will continue to be a source of inspiration to us all and an example of a strong, courageous mother who truly loved you, your brother, and father more than words can express. She touched our lives and opened our eyes.

Your family is & will remain in my prayers.

Continued prayers for your family.

Sailingwest,
Thank you so much for letting us know. Your mom has an amazing gift for language and she has touched so many people on her journey, not only the ones who have posted in response, but many many lurkers. Her heart was always full of love for you, your brother and your dad.

I am so glad that she was able to see you both & that she is comfortable on the next part of her journey. I didn’t think it was possible to feel such sadness about news of someone I’ve never met, but yet I am.

All the best to you, your brother, your dad & your entire family during this difficult time.

Thank you for posting this, sailingwest, at what I know is a very difficult time for your family. The way your mom has touched us - a group of internet strangers - has been amazing. I’ve been following for a year, and only recently posted. But I thought of her almost every day. Her words showed her intelligence, wit, energy, and love.

I’m keeping all of you in my thoughts. I wish SunriseEast peace, love, and comfort.

God Bless this family and others in the same situation.

Sailingwest, thank you for your generosity. I can only echo what everyone else has said about your mother’s wonderful spirit and her love for you. Blessings.

There are some people in life you will never forget. Your mom is one of them. The title of this thread is such a tribute to her and her love for you and your siblings. Peace to your family.

Sailingwest, thank you for your update at this difficult time for your family. I hope you all have peace. Your mom’s intellect and grace shone through with every word she wrote here. I am glad that we all told her that at every step of the way so she would know how the way she fought inspired all of us. I can’t even tell you how proud I was of her when she got accepted to law school! She shared that your dad is facing medical challenges, as well, and I sincerely wish the best for him.

Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Sailingwest- Thank you for continuing your mom’s generosity with this update. Please take comfort in knowing she has touched so many lives. I will keep you all in my thoughts as you weather this difficult time. Hold tight to each other and your memories. I will always think of your mom when I see a beautiful sunrise.

Prayers for peace for you and your family…

She’s such a courageous woman and was so strong to write about her journey. Thank you for keeping us posted. She will be with us always.

Sailingwest, there are no words that will bring comfort following the loss of your extraordinary mother. She enriched our lives & taught us courage and grace. And she was filled with love. She will be missed.

Sailingwest,
Thank you for your generosity of spirit in sharing this very sad update with us. From the beginning, your beloved mother’s thoughts were of her two wonderful young men and how to help them through this. She was so incredibly proud of you both and all you have accomplished and what she knew you would accomplish. She loved your Dad and was so concerned about his health challenges. She fought as hard as anyone can imagine and inspired countless numbers of people in real life and through her Internet postings. I wish you, your brother, your Dad and your Mom peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Your have my deepest sympathy.
