<p>In Manhattan we don’t worry about these things. It’s either you have a chauffeured town car (driver a part of the full time staff, which include maids + cooks) or you’re taking the MTA. Why are we arguing about 5 year old BMW’s…or was it Fords we were talking about?</p>

Lol. '05 isn’t old at all (Granted, I got my car new as a sophomore…). There’s a kid at my school who has an '08 IS250, another with a '10 Mercedes GLK350, etc…</p>

Thanks for the suggestions, I’m all for being eco-friendly at times, but I’ll stick to a car. I plan on going to college within a few hours drive, outside a major city, and near a beach. So it’s more so for convenience sake. </p>
<p>And yeah like I said I have a hand-me-down car but tons of other kids also have cars like Whan previously posted.</p>

<p>I have a beat-up, used '91 Nissan. It was crawling with ants when I first got it and the seats are permanently stained from whatever the previous owner spilled on it. It gets me from point A to point B without breaking down, usually. LOL</p>
<p>This reminds me of that time in Real Housewives of New Jersey where they were debating whether or not passing SUMMER SCHOOL deserved a new Escalade. They ended up deciding she had worked hard enough to DESERVE the Escalade. lmao</p>
<p>People are crazy. Cars are pretty much a top 10 waste of money. Their value decreases so quickly and you can have a super cheap car that works fine. </p>

Agreed. Guys that aren’t into cars? I find that incredibly awkward. And no I’m not the type of the girl that’ll judge a guy by what car they drive. Cars just make for fun conversation. But any guy who muds or races is WIN in my book!</p>

<p>Outside of that, my only care about cars is that I find guys who drive stick much much cooler than guys who do automatic. I mean, come on. Be a man, get a manual transmission. I feel kind of bad about thinking it, since I suppose it’s somewhat sexist, but whatevs.</p>

You’re not alone on that. Real men drive stick, end of story. Whenever I’m at a meet the dudes that drive automatic get scoffed at. Of course it’s usually the Euro cars that are stick and to some extent ricers. Its harder to find Americans that are manual, especially trucks.</p>

<p>I’m a guy and cars bore me to tears. I’m happy if you can go talk for hours on different engines and AutoZone is your paradise, but all I care about is making it to my destination in one piece.</p>

<p>All y’all guys who don’t know much about cars: Learn some stuff. At the very least, you have to know how to
- Change/rotate a tire
- Change the oil
- Drive stick (If your family owns one)
- Be able to diagnose basic problems
- (Most importantly) Know basic car terms. If you can’t tell a a driveshaft from a catalytic converter, we have a big problem.</p>
