My Governor the sleaze bag

NYMomof2- my sympathies. I thought he was cool, but didn’t really know too much about him. I guess nobody did.

I’m really glad he only trotted out his wife to watch him resign; I was afraid the three little girls would have to be dragged onstage also.

What, and take a cut in pay?

Ummm…how do we know those callgirls were not college graduates (from fine private LAC/univs) ?

Was it the DC Madam who only hired college-educated girls?

I wonder if the girls have been going to school. Maybe they were leaving the building by the service door. I’d love to believe that the phalanx of reporters could see them leave for school and say nothing about it, but that’s wishful thinking.

Yep-- college educated with a business plan

Well, now that this sleazy stuff is (almost) over, we will have a new, very interesting Governor next Monday. Songs of praise from all around for David Paterson.

Thanks for the sympathy, vicariousparent. There is (was!) a very active “women for Spitzer” group who calls me periodically. I was not active in the campaign for governor because he started out at about 60% in the polls, and I like to save my limited time and money for campaigns that actually need my help. One of the women did persuade me to make a very early donation, though. I’m sure every one of these women who did work so hard for him feels completely betrayed. And there are quite a few people around the country who were planning to support him for president in 2012, if there was an opening.

“And there are quite a few people around the country who were planning to support him for president in 2012, if there was an opening.”

Monday night, my father was sitting at dinner shaking his head, saying, “He could have been the first Jewish president. He could have been.”

Yeah, it was called the Empire Club.

StickerShock, I guess I walked into that one! At least you made me laugh!!!

Hanna, I wish Russ Feingold would run.

SS – I think it was the Emperor’s Club but I got the message.

I think it’s about time this thread got merged with the one about the ED ads. They seem to be going in the same general direction.

I just figured out what “ED” stands for! I started reading that thread a few days ago and didn’t know what they were talking about.

No wonder I scored high on the autism test. I am always the last one to get a joke.

NYMomof2,
Don’t feel bad- you are not alone. I read post #333 and thought to myself “what Early Decision ads? I didn’t see that thread”. Boy-- one would think this forum was about colleges or something…

For those of you speculating about the identity of the other clients, abovethelaw.com., my favorite legal on-line tabloid, notes a story in the NY Post today:

"So Governor Eliot Spitzer is scheduled to speak in half an hour. We’ll cover that when it happens. Meanwhile, a tipster points out:

Little notice has been given so far to the other “Client Xs” in the federal complaint at the center of the Spitzer prostitution scandal. But one story semi-buried in the Post this morning certainly perked up our ears at the Court of Appeals!
The money quote:

“The feds’ sensational criminal complaint listing 10 ‘clients’ allegedly includes a top New York judge and even a former law-enforcement official and longtime pal of the disgraced governor, two sources said.”

So even if Governor Spitzer exits the political stage today, the fun may not be over yet. The Emperors Club may be a gift that keeps on giving."

2cakes - agree completely. My comments weren’t really regarding Spitzer, just some general observations. I’ve just been amazed at how many commercials seem to portray men as inept & stupid. There’s no excuse for Spitzer’s actions (they WERE stupid!). I was just trying to speak up for men in general.

oh wow, reading the snapshots of the site reminds me of advertisements for sundried mangoes.

ok – excuse me – they badly need a copyeditor!

Wonder how you earn your “diamonds”? Customer surveys? Do the 1 diamond girls feel badly?
