My Governor the sleaze bag

James Carville on CNN defending Eliot Spitzer right now. Doesn’t see any reason why the Governor should resign. WOW! That’s a surprise.

Question: How is this different than Bill Clinton? Did they both not commit felonies?

Many said boo to both. Can you show me where important republicans stood up and defended Craig?

Razorsharp you are razorsharp. By the way do any of the Spitzer girls get into Princeton coming from a legacy family? Looking forward to reading what $5000 an hour provides our wealthy Gov. and moral leader from the Ivy covered Princeton University.

LAX, Monica Lewinsky was not a prostitute and Bill Clinton didn’t pay her.

Actually the Democrats didnt say much about Craig except that he should come out. Had Spitzer not sent so many to jail for the same thing it would mean nothing. The point is being missed. The only reason Carville is out is because Spitzer is a superdelegate and Hillary needs the vote otherwise they would let him sink.

That’s not what I meant. I was referring to perjury also being classified as a felony.

LAX – OK. Just wanted to be clear on which crimes we’re talking about here.

Vitterously – I am a lifelong Democrat and New Yorker and I want Spitzer to resign. This likely felony is the straw that broke the camel’s back. It’s not like Spitzer hadn’t already destroyed whatever hopes Democrats had for him on “DAY ONE.”

And yes, I think Craig and Vitter should resign too.

Speaking of “DAY ONE,” that was Spitzer’s slogan, “EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE ON DAY ONE.”

Now that Hillary has deleted Spitzer’s endorsement of her from her campaign website do you think she’ll delete references to “DAY ONE” from her speeches also?

Wow, I was way shocked when I heard. From here in Minnesota Spitzer appeared squeaky clean. I think these guys let power go to their heads – and there is always temptation around. True, though, that we never know others’ marriages. I know CCers won’t start trashing the innocent wife.

If he hasn’t already resigned, he should do so before the sun sets today.

Then you should have no problem providing me with links to these people. I doubt they exist however so it might be hard to find them…

Where are these people you speak of? Saying Craig shouldn’t resign but Spitzer should? Please document!

What was Craig using campaign money for? He was busted for a “wide stance” and a “tapping toe” in a men’s room stall. They never got far enough to discuss financial ramifications.

Senator Craig is hiring interns for the summer. I wonder how many applications he’ll get.

Sorry, I was mistaken when I said that he’d resigned - a combination of misinterpreting his statement, and feeling so sure that he HAD to resign. I’m sure he will.

No inside information! I’m only on the intimate (thousands, I’m sure) holiday card distribution list because of my $100 contribution to his campaign. I want my money back!

By the way, Clinton has now lost one superdelegate vote (assuming Spitzer resigns). He was supporting her. Patterson also supports her, but he already had a vote as a DNC member. He does not get another one if he becomes governor. So one less superdelegate in the pool.

I love it. ^

I didn’t read all the posts, so maybe this was posted already. I thought it was pretty funny:

[village voice > blogs > The Bush Beat > When Will Spitzer Finally Pull Out?](http://blogs.villagevoice.com/bushbeat/archives/2008/03/when_will_spitz.php)

“His dad is worth over 500 million”

Which is why I think the wife is standing by. They probably made her an offer that will protect her and her daughters. If I were divorcing a thug like Spitzer, I’d want whatever leverage I could get.

coffee- how does Governor Spitzer’s actions have ANYTHING to do with Princeton? It upsets me how much people on College Confidential seem to believe that a college somehow makes a man (or woman).

Still waiting on those republicans who supported Craig but don’t support Spitzer

It’s funny that dems are flipping out over Spitzer but had no problem defending Clinton for a felony…
