thanks for the vote of confidence guys!! i really hope you’re right! =</p>

Hmm… Columbia ED…
Let’s just hope Spectacular :)

I wanna go so bad too!

Haha, silver_wavez, I can tell you’re just as obsessed as I am (if not more)from your contribution to the Columbia boards :D. Here’s to both of us getting a big fat envelope on Dec 15! (I’m so scared to open the email… to be nice they should just put the subject as “Congratulations!!” or “Don’t open here unless you want to cry”.:() For the next 12 days, I’ll be crossing my fingers for both of us!

Does anyone else have opinions about my chances? If so, pls contribute! Thanks a million!

good chance…won’t say you’re in but you look very competitive…g luck!

thx shjanama77! best of luck to u too!

“Congratulations!!” or “Don’t open here unless you want to cry”.
I so agree Spectacular
Opening that email… will be excruciating! haha…
and if it does say congrats… it will be happiest day of my life… i dunno what i’ll do if it’s an R… i’ll go into denial and pretend it never happened!!!

thanks… i’ll be praying for us and every other columbian wannabe on here…!!! cheers!!! here’s to our acceptancesssss

you live in Toronto? which school you go to? 97% i average?? that’s unheard of!!! you must be a genius!!!the highest i heard of is a 90%, that’s 1 in 300+ students at my school. omg!!! i only have 85% but is the top 5 highest in grade!!! do you go to a private school!!!

I think you should be in.
Columbia does accept more than 35% of the ED pol

haha silver, i love ur eternal optimism
as for those R’s, lets not think of it until we have to
[yes, I too, am into denial: ignorance–or obliviousness–is bliss =)]

Newby, I go to W.L.Mackenzie, a public school. It’s not as crazy as private prep schools but it’s still quite competitive, since we have the Gifted program and an enriched program. I doubt I’m a genius, lol, but there may be a bit of grade inflation at my school…or maybe deflation in yours? Our school doesn’t provide explicit rankings, but from the honor roll lists that have been posted, I can tell that I’ve been 2/~325 for the past 3 years. This one guy has continuously gotten 98.5+ avgs since his grade 9 year, so it’s not impossible. I find grades really subjective though, because it depends on the teacher, and the courses you choose. Which school do you attend?

thx akashbansal! wow, 35% is alot, esp compared to its low general admissions rate!

“Columbia does accept more than 35% of the ED pool” - where did you get this info akash?

and speck… of course we MUST be optimistic :)

yea, I’m interested to know as well. The only number I’ve heard is 26% from the class of 2007 ED pool.

7th circle of hell - I like it. Someone who can read at that level should be admitted to Columbia. Especially when one’s from Toronto. :-)

lol btb, thx! but to be fair, the Big Smoke isnt all THAT baddd…lol. where in TO are u from?

I’d say you’re in. Freakishly good grades you have. Freakishly good.

Newby , which school do u go to?
For sure, there is nobody in my school that can get an average as 97%…
