I went for my sports physical for swimming(which starts monday) because I have epilepsy she said I have to see a neurologist before I can practice and I won’t be able to get in untill october, the seasons aalready over except for districts/state which I won’t qualify for now…I think I might lose my swimming scholarship now…im literally ballin my eyes out…

Has thsi happened to anyone else on cc?? Where something you’ve done ur whole life is suddenly snatched away from you??

I’m sure many people have experienced something similar from a serious injury that prevented them from playing their senior year. I just hope the same doesn’t happen to me.

Your best chance is to wait it out and hope that there is a cancellation with the neurologist. Hopefully there is an appointment with her/him before october. Your life isn’t over! This is just an obstacle you have to get through. But honestly, you should’ve gotten your sports physical done way ahead of time since you knew that you had epilepsy which could complicate things.

^^^right. that just reminds me, when you go to a clinic you could lie. Not that I’m saying its good to do or anything, but if you are desperate enough…

I did go to a walk in clinic.I went to the same I have been for years with no problems.I always told them about the epilepsy and its been no big deal…till now.ii couldn’t get my physical because I was either working or babysitting my newborn nephew.I had to quick my job earlier than needed just to get this physical.I might go somewhere else tomorrow and just lie. :shrugs: ya got to do what ya got to do

the place i went just took my height/weight/blood pressure, then asked if i had any health problems. me, “nope.” "dr., " “ok, here you go. it’s $75, pay at the front deck” took all of 2 minutes.

(i had had tendons and ligaments torn and “needed” surgery, but i wasn’t going to have to recover 16 weeks during season(s). give me some roxicodone and let me play)

“I might go somewhere else tomorrow and just lie. :shrugs: ya got to do what ya got to do”

Please don’t do that. You could be risking your life.
If you get on the neurologist’s waiting list, and call a lot to follow-up, you’ll probably be able to get in soon due to a cancellation.
