My Mom Ran My Tinder

If you’ve got a few spare minutes, this is an entertaining and funny read. Just glad my kids are tinder averse.

no way…no how!

Hmmm, my D just broke up with her boyfriend. Haha, lol! No way in heck!

Well, I guess that would be better than her running Grindr; that would certainly curl her hair.

@skieurope

A lot of moms here would be glad to monitor and set you up on Tinder.

Pay back… >:)

new slogan for tinder:

TINDER MOTHER USED AND APPROVED!!!

Cute article!

D1 moved here after graduation and didn’t know anyone. Met a guy on Tinder her first week and that was more than a year and a half ago and they’re still happy together. You never know…

But D1 can’t stand not having a good size group of friends around. If she doesn’t know anyone, she’ll find a way to change that. There are “meet up” groups posted all the time too (a bunch of us are playing frisbee in the park at 6 on Friday, come join us!) and she would gamely show up for all sorts of things even when no one else showed up the first few times. Persistence pays off in all things!

I was hoping he would have at least one good date from his Mom!

Cute story. Well written. The guy has a good future! Surely one of us has a daughter who’s the appropriate age!

DD showed me Tinder one night and let me swipe for her, it was pretty fun " nope, no hot bad boys for you, we’ll take these nice techy dudes"

Heck, I’d pretend to be a 25 year old if it meant scoring one of those Hamilton tickets!

A CC parents setting up their kids thread. (followed by a wedding planning thread)
child, female/male, age, SAT score, college name, occupation. ;))

I could just imagine hey I found the perfect guy for you on CC. “Mom, are you on cc again? I don’t need your help.”

That is the funniest thing I have read in ages. Weighing sending it to my single D… Edit: sent it with a note “Just to make your hair stand on end”. I don’t think she uses Tinder, but my niece does. I sent it to her, too.

I am wondering how widespread is for CC parents to set up their high-achieving children with the children of other CC parents? There should be a thread for this purpose although the majority of the action is probably through PMs.

Ha ha! We would get to post their “singles profile”, I can’t wait!

SAT scores have to be included

My kids go to LACs, I prefer a more holistic approach than test scores.

Very cute read.

My son met his long time girlfriend on Match. I laughed when he told me but its just the ways things are now. It seems unbelievable that a very good looking young 20s with a bright future would have difficulty finding a girlfriend but according to him he didn’t have the time or desire to spend night after night in the bars/parties/dances trying to find a like-minded person. I expect him to announce his engagement any time now.

Back in the old days (that is, my era) it was considered creepy to find someone through a dating site.

Oh wait – back in my era, dating sites didn’t exist. Maybe I mean the personal ads.

Regardless, now it’s quite common and not at all “shameful.” Just read the Sunday New York Times “Vows” section. It mentions lots of times how the couple met, and it’s often through a dating site.

We would need two threads.

Moms and Dads of sons
Moms and Dads of daughters
Or maybe set it up by region.

Have any of you set up your kids on a blind date? For example with some friends kid who you thought would be just perfect. Personally I don’t want to set up dd with anyone. When it’s meant to be it will happen.
I am thinking of the movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.”
