I am absolutely hooked on the TV show, So You Think You Can Dance!

I Tevo and watch it religiously. I think the kids on that show are so talented, and it almost makes me cry when I see some of the incredible choreographed dances. It amazes me (not being a dancer) that those kids can change from their own style and learn a completely foriegn dance style in a week and then perform in front of millions of people with such brilliance. I also love watching the progression week to week of the dancers skills and confidence.

OK, so I am sure some of ya’ll have a guilty pleasure for these hot summer nights… Spill… ;)

Watching “24” in order - seeing the last episodes of season 2 tonight. We’ve had lots of family squabbles this summer, but Jack Bauer brings us all together.

What more does Kiefer Suitherland have to do to win an Emmy award, anyway?

Yes, the ABC one is a total B version knock off of American Idol. I watched a little of it the other night and was totally turned off. The CBS one is that “Rockstar Supernova” thing where they are looking for a front man/woman singer for a new band made up of rockers from Guns and Roses, Tommy Lee, and somebody else. It is kind of fun, but frankly, I would rather watch a couple dance the slow waltz or a broadway number. The funny thing about that rock stars show is that some of the singers cannot sing! They hit all kinds of bad notes, but if they are head banging, the judges praise them. I can just see Simon cringing at the catterwalling going on on the stage. Oh well, rock is a different genre entirely and I guess pitch problems are not really looked at as problems. lol

I’m positively giddy that Project Runway has started Season 3. Tim is such a sweetheart and I love the way Heidi says, “Nina Garcia”. And I so think that Daniel should have won Season 2!

Did you see that dress made from coffee filters last week? Why wasn’t that top 3?

wow I don’t even watch TV-except at the gym- I feel left out ( I had to finally cancel my netflix subscription because by the time they came I wasn’t in the mood/or had time)- although if I had a chance I like to take the small tv in the garage outside to the garden and watch West wing ( if it wasn’t canceled)

I was gonna say though that My summer guilty pleasure
is x-rated ;)

It’s RIDICULOUSLY addicting! When I brought home the first DVD my college-age daughter said, “Watch out, Mom - there goes your weekend.” She wasn’t kidding - I am hooked.

MySweet: We love Project Runway, too! The coffee filter dress was pretty. (I wonder how long they’ll keep the guy who cashed in his 401k to return to design? Or will they let him self-destruct on TV?)

(I don’t consider this a guilty pleasure since I am a dressmaker. I tell H it’s research.)

My only TV watching, but it is an obsession, is Mets, Mets, Mets. I stretched out my lunch break to watch a couple innings with my S this afternoon (he works late, so he almost never gets to see them.)

When they’re not playing, I watch the Yankees to root against them.

OK, I am definitely going to sound like a reality junkie, but I tevo Project Runway too. I loved the coffee filter dress, but my favorite was the white dress made from the duvet cover that had the red bows on the back and the chains. It was something that I would definitely wear. I thought the blue dress that won was pretty, but I don’t feel like he followed the rules of the competition by only using the sheets and no other materials (if you don’t count the buttons from the duvet). It should be a good season, the designers did a good job with the first competition, and it seems to be an interesting mix. But, the guy with the basket hat who cashed in his 401K is a NUT! I am sure they will keep him around for the entertainment value, it is reality tv. But, I thought his dress was like something I would have made back in Home Ec in 7th grade, complete with the silly buttons on the pockets. What is he going to do next, use a Bedazzler?

I’m sooo happy that your team is having a good season as it makes coming to work more bearable as all of the mets fans are in a good mood.

Andrew & Mysweetbabboo,

I just saw Project Runway for the first time last week when season 3 started. When I spoke to DD you would have thought I discovered a cure for something, the way I talked about the show. OH, yes, the dress with the coffee fiters was really pretty. I also thought the white dress made from the duvet cover that had the red bows on the back and the chains should have won over the blue dress (even though it was a nice dress)

What about Laura the architect with 5 kids who says she never “dresses down” because it is a slippery slope to just waring sweats. Too late for me. I guess I went running down full speed that slope because I live in my assortment of college t-shirts and sweats at home

I think they’ll keep vincent around until he has a nervous breakdown on the air.

Yea, Laura is kind of intimidating, but I liked her once the actual show started. After you get past the slippery slope comment (which I am also way down on) she doesn’t seem too stuffy and has a good sense of style. I liked the coat she made, and agree with the judges that it definitely looks like her. I don’t know if I would want the jingly silver things hanging off it though.

Vincent is a nut job but funny to watch. I hope he doesn’t become one of those people you cringe when you watch because you can tell they are ready to blow!

garland: after about a year of searching, I found, (actually, my daughter found it) the t-shirt my son has been dying to have:
“I (heart) NY
It’s the Yankees I hate”
He was SO excited when I told him I had finally found it (in Boston, at a t-shirt place in Faneuil Hall).

ag54: My daughter (a dancer) called me last night from southern California, where she is performing in a dance competition and asked me to please tape “so you think”. I taped it but didn’t watch. Maybe now I will!

Aries, I am eagerly awaiting the paperback edition of 12 Sharp. I don’t buy hardcovers, I have two children in college!

My personal not-so-guilty pleasure is spending hours every day watching the Tour de France… while eating enormous bowls of fresh raspberries and blueberries topped with homemade whipped cream (made with a bit of brown sugar and vanilla). Go Floyd!

My S gets up mid morning every day, then veges in front of the Tour until he has to leave for work. When I come home for lunch, I join him. He’s done this the last couple years, so by now we both now a peleton from a maillot jaune (though not sure on the spelling.)

I’m definitely hooked, though I don’t get to see a lot of it live.

My main summer guilty pleasure is BIG BROTHER 7: All-Stars. But that’s not really true, it’s more of an obsession. I watch every episode, I watch an online talk show devoted to Big Brother everyday, I read all the spoilers.

A step-down from Big Brother is So You Think You Can Dance?
I really like watching the dancers, I like Travis, Ivan, Danyelle, Allison, Nathalie the most.

And I also watch Kyle XY (haha) , The Real World, Fresh Meat, well basically all MTV shows. lol
