How about Mexican vanilla at the duty free shop? It’s the best and there is no cheaper way to get it.
Back to the topic at hand. I’m not a fan of company logos on the front of my clothes (think Ralph Lauren polo guy, or Lacoste alligator). But lots of people like those things.
I’m not either. But I also recognize that brands do that to create awareness and buzz, particularly when the product, like a knit collared shirt, isn’t visually distinctive, unlike a Chanel or St John’s suit. Everyone knows the polo pony brand.
And most of us are driving cars with a hood ornament. So I’ll get by with a subtle logo, like the OG small pony, but I’m under no circumstances walking around with a large pony logo.
Agreed. We sometimes use the mower to collect leaves in the bag and then dump in a pile. Or we rake the leaves, or just leave the leaves. The electric blower is mostly for other stuff.
I don’t know if it’s because we have a distribution center so close to where we live but we have had several instances recently where we’ve needed something and gone online to research what local store has it and how much it costs and realized we could get it later that day or before we woke up from Amazon for less than it would take for us to drive to the store ourselves. I’m out and about most days and don’t mind running around but sometimes it’s just too easy to have it delivered. But I admittedly have an embarassing number of Amazon deliveries some weeks.
We use Amazon and will continue to do so. But please watch Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy for some thought-provoking discussion on what such conveniences are costing us.
Our narrow town is having issues with these bigger pickup trucks. The parking is angled but the trucks stick out so far that they intrude into the driving lane. It is especially bad if there is a large truck on both the south and the north side.
Seems like they need to have “NO Parking of Vehicles greater than __ length” signs where __ is the maximum length of vehicle that can be parked without intruding into the traffic lane.
However, it probably already is illegal to park a vehicle where it impedes traffic, so they could write parking citations to overly-long vehicles intruding into the traffic lane while parked.
Target is dead to me . I rarely shop there (in spite of being 5 minutes from my house), this Christmas I decided to spend there with my target card to get 5% off. First I discovered my credit limit was $200, no problem, I’ll just call. I was told it could take up to 12 months to get it approved. Fine, I’ll just place orders and pay it off immediately online. Learned you can only pay online about once a week. Fine, I’ll call and pay in full. After about 2 weeks of this, even though I had no pending charges, they wouldn’t let me charge anything (balance $0, credit limit $200, I couldn’t charge anything for weeks). Obviously I could use a credit card or PayPal, but no discount. It was annoying, but how about folks who had a $200 limit, paid their balance, and couldn’t use their card, and they had no other options? It’s Christmas. Amazon, I ordered a TV 2 days before Christmas because ours was no longer working with the fire stick, so bought a larger smart TV. Mentioned it to my daughter, turns out the kids bought us the same size tv (but much nicer), scheduled a return on Christmas Day for the 26th, ups picked it up, got a refund, very easy.
