Country. Yuck.

I saw U2 there ! Very cool.

Didn’t see the Eagles but I saw Don Henley at a company outing and the Eagles in Nashville. Being as they don’t move at all, seemed an odd choice but I’m told they were fantastic.

The “sin city” nickname was given in the 1930s, with the association of crime/mobsters and gambling. In more recent decades, the city has dramatically changed and become one of the nation’s most popular tourist locations, with countless family vacation friendly activities. If you said Sin City to someone today, I expect they’d be more likely to think you are talking about the city from the 2005 Bruce Willis movie of that name than Las Vegas.

For example, Trip Advisor lists over 3000 activities to do in Las Vegas. The top voted activities of those 3000 are as follows.

  1. Bellagio Fountains
  2. Fremont Street (live music, street performers, zip line, …)
  3. Red Rock Canyon Hiking/Drive
  4. Bellagio Botanical Gardens
  5. High Roller Ferris Wheel

With so many tourist activities, there is plenty to do for people who don’t like gambling. I wouldn’t want to live there, but I enjoy visiting occasionally and checking various locations or activities.

I feel like Las Vegas is a tawdry adult Disneyland. Everything is fake. And the expensive places (hotels) are Tony Soprano’s idea of fancy.

I’ve been twice (for soccer tournaments) and honestly can say there is not a single thing I like about it.

Not a gambler. Went to Vegas once as an adult – had a fun few days seeing the hotels, going to a couple of shows, and taking a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon. But don’t feel a need to go back.

Williamsburg…if we are talking about places. We went when our kids were younger…and it was OK, but not terrific. Loved the nighttime things, but really the rest was…not my cup of tea.

The Grand Canyon. Sure, it’s impressive, but I only need about 2-3 minutes to take it all in.
Yellowstone NP. I don’t find the geothermal features terribly interesting or awe inspiring.

I hope nobody says Yosemite is overhyped because I’m really excited about going there for the first time in June.

Luxury Vinyl Flooring. It’s everywhere now. Even high end homes are putting it in. IT’s just a no for me.

Fun fact - I saw Elvis Presley (the real one) in Las Vegas way back when. I think I was 11.

The thing about Williamsburg is that it was built in the 20th century, it’s ok but lacks historical originality.

I’m not fond of Mackinac Island either, it’s a gimmick. Lots of people love it there. I’m sure the Island doesn’t give one whit if I like it or not since it’s always busy.

I wish more people wouldn’t like places I want to go to, because I could do with less people!

Sad Fact: Dad took me to Las Vegas for our week-apart BDs when I turned 18. Elvis and Bing Crosby were headlining. We saw Steve Allen. Boo.

Elvis died the next year.

I went outside once…there were people. Never again.

Since leather is a status symbol while vinyl is a negative status symbol, vinyl seats in expensive cars are called something else, like Mercedes-Benz’ MB-Tex.

Leather seats in cars are an example for the topic of this thread.

I hate leather seats in cars.

Well, someone mentioned this up thread, so I didn’t want to pile on, but I’m another one that doesn’t get the allure of luxury cars. For me, they’re simply a means from getting from A to B.

Although I did go by the Ferrari showroom and saw a beautiful F80 for $3.1 million. :astonished:

Some like to drive - it’s their happy place. I’m like you - but I just bought my son a small sedan…not SUV like the rest of the world - because he likes the driving dynamic. A Mazda 3 - which is a sportier, more luxury Nissan, Honda, or Toyota equivalent (Sentra, Civic, Corrolla) and has a higher level engine.

An SUV to him - drives like getting from A to B.

There are reasons people drive BMW, Porsche, Benz - some are wealth status but some are driving characteristic.

I’m an A to B guy - but so many are different.

Give me a Hyundai Tucson and I’d be fine.

I absolutely love my Honda Fit and I am gutted that they do not sell them in the US anymore.

I can drive the wheels off my less than agile truck. I love to drive. It’s the pesky driving laws that get in the way of all the fun. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
