Name A Product You Don’t Get The Hype About

That would be my problem - I eat what I have that I like. That’s why I buy ice cream in pints too.

I agree on the frosting issue, EXCEPT if it’s cream cheese frosting, really good cream cheese frosting…

I will eat a good cream cheese frosting on a good carrot cake.

Here’s a product I don’t get the hype on. Diffusers. I have occasion to go to meetings in different people’s homes for a committee I am on and some of them will have one of these going as part of the “ambiance” or something.

They claim it’s healthy because they diffuse essential oils, but I would rather not inhale ANYTHING. A clean house shouldn’t need ‘extra’ scents in my opinion.

I LOVE FROSTING!

For some reason cc won’t let me post that sentiment as a standalone thought so here is a superfluous sentence to see whether this works.

My parents had some glass tables for the patio at poolside. They were convenient and we used them. My niece has them now. We use them when we go there.

I think flooring is something that there can be a lot of variation depending on where you live. Here in AZ, for example, where our A/C is on for 5-6 months of the year, tile flooring in common areas of a house is often preferred.

Somehow and we will never be sure how, my daughter got really sick from a diffuser.

She was using oils to decrease her stress level. Got sick for months from it.

It was the only thing new in her life and got a respiratory infection.

We all threw our diffusers away.

I love sour beers! I always add them to my flights when I see one is available. Then again, I prefer light or fruity craft beverages and dislike overly hop-y tastes.

Our wedding cake was a carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Personally I’ve never been a fan of scents—any scents. I prefer clean air. We don’t use diffusers, air fresheners, or any similar items. Our family tends to be sensitive to scents so we do best w/o them.

We also avoid scents at our house.

Somehow for 40 years I’ve gotten away without using Bounce or other anti-cling sheets. (It seems like we had more cling problems back in NY, but mostly that was with my knee high stockings.) That has saved on scents AND cents  And now that I’m paying attention, it avoided some packaging too.

Scent boosters! (inspired by the scent discussion) - we use eco-friendly detergent and I always know when our neighbors are doing laundry because of the INTENSE smell that permeates the entire neighborhood- ugh - really don’t get why everyone wants to smell like that!! :rage: :no_entry_sign:

Bidets. Just creepy and gross. Threw out the one that came with our cabin. No thanks.

Ditto! Kids bought a house with 2. Thankfully, the seller took them with her. I asked the kids if they wanted to buy a replacement. The answer was a big NO!

Speaking of scented products, the one I completely don’t get is scented cat litter! Gag.

The cat litter is going to be scented, one way, or another…

I loathe In N Out. It’s the same burger anyone makes on their backyard grill. I’m from So Cal and we used to go there on our way into Hollywood for the night. I never understood the fuss.

I became a vegetarian, which will be relevant shortly. Many years later, my dad, as a treat, said he was taking me, hubby and kids to In N Out. I hadn’t eaten a burger at that point for close to 20 years. But hey, secret menu and all that, so I figured I could get the non-advertised veggie burger. Which is nonexistent. My “veggie burger,” which they handed over with a straight face, was literally lettuce and tomato on a bun.

Canada Goose (and other similarly expensive) coats.

I swear, the colder a place is, the LESS likely people are to own these coats. You pay $1500 for one of these coats and one trip to the store later and it’s covered with salt just like a $100 coat.

@jym626 - can you tell me what brand your glass table is? And where you got it? Have been looking for something similar to what you described for our kitchen nook.
