My wife absolutely LOVES passion fruit. However, it has to be ripe, and it has to be fresh.
I don’t get reality shows like The Bachelor or whatever it is but I love reality shows like Portrait Artist of the Year or Ambulance Australia or the venerable Trauma: Life in the ER. What I really don’t get is cooking shows.
I love Portrait Artist of the Year!
My wife and I are fans of On Patrol Live on the REELZ channel. It’s aired live on Friday and Saturday nights.
We also enjoyed Nightwatch on A&E, but it wasn’t renewed because local officials in New Orleans opposed the show,
We don’t enjoy any of the more scripted, salacious reality shows. My wife really enjoys Finding Your Roots.
Sounds like you enjoy reality shows that are real life. Not the arranged-circumstance shows like The Bachelor. Makes sense to me.
I do like a cooking show now and then. Never warmed to Martha Stewart, but she has a lot of fans
Do you consider a cooking show reality tv???
Not really. But cooking shows were mentioned in same referenced post, so I mentioned my thoughts on them.
I never miss Survivor but the rest of the “reality” shows, especially the dating ones–no thanks.
Not a big fan of Finding Your Roots, I find it moves slowly, but a great show is Who Do You Think You are. US version was done by Gwyneth Paltrow, I believe. Only a few seasons exist and they don’t have a ton of episodes. British version has been going much longer and is still making new episodes—I’d like to find a way to watch the British episodes.
WDYTYA sends the celebrities on the road to visit the places where their ancestors lived, having spend speak to genealogists and historians on site. Finding Your Roots has the celebrity just sit there and discuss a scrapbook with Henry Louis Gates.
Yes, I know, we’re getting off topic–I apologize to the mods.
Seems like we need a Reality Show thread.
The only one I like is Northwoods Law (and it’s spinoffs). We watch as a family. S23 is a wildlife bio major and has friends that are interested in those types of positions and we also recognize many of the places.
Well we do have them for various reality shows. Survivor, Bachelor Franchise, Amazing Race…… I’d start a Traitors one if I knew if anyone was watching….
All the hype that many of you don’t get, I GET. I love reality shows. Like REALITY SHOWS.
Switching to a non-TV product where I don’t understand the hype. Reusable straws. Now in general, I’ve been interested in reducing plastics and other “green” priorities. But for straws (which I used to us at restaurants), I’m not interested in reusable straws. I just drink from the glass now.
Yeah – should be Tropical Drink Fruit… Sexy Beach Fruit… something like that.
Have you been given a reusable straw at a restaurant? I’ve never seen that.
Wrong kind of passion.
Our only one.
Okay, I’ll jump in with a perhaps controversial take: I don’t get the hype with taking a bushel of vitamins/supplements/collagen daily for no specific reason.
Actually, what I really don’t get is the number of folks I see on social media (and I am not on that much!) claiming you “need” this or “need” that, with no medical citations. Some of it is MLM but a lot is not.
I do take a Vitamin D supplement on the advice of my MD after bloodwork. But I don’t understand the hype to take a bunch of supplements that may not do anything, may interact with something, and will definitely make my wallet lighter.
I loathe them. My kids insist on using them, they get caught in the dishwasher (skinny metal ones). I rarely use straws, but I have my own supply of nice plastic disposable straws.
We only hand wash the one fat metal reusable straw we have. It came with its own brush. I would wonder whether straws in dishwasher get very clean without any brushing of the inside.
ANYTHING Multi Level Marketing!
