What kind of “thing” are they looking for? A material thing? An award? A personality trait? Any of these?

I originally wrote about a personally trait but now the word “thing” is throwing me. Any help?

If you are especially proud of a personality trait, then that’s a fine answer.

Just submit it under “topic of your choice” if you have any doubt.

^ Wait, what? I think he’s talking about the short answer question. In which case, I think a personality trait would be fine.

PFNMCP, hes not talking about the essay section… the 25 word short takes. If it makes you proud, then so be it. Stop worrying… they are not going to reject you because of your answer. They just want to obtain a more complete picture of the applicant…

it’s corny but i said “one person…my sister”. I really do love the girl. :)

I originally put “My teeth” (really, my dentist thinks I should be proud of them too)…but I thought it was a little creepy so I put down something else.

Teeth? Hah! Love it!

I said that I’ve never lost a friend… which is true :)

^ IMpossible. You just lost me as a friend for saying that ;). I put a very cliched thing but it sounded very powerful so ;)

I put, “Though some may see it as a burden, I am proud of my descent from the cradle of civilization, Iraq, and my unwavering belief in God.”

Would that be fine?

I had to read it a couple times but I don’t see any wrong with it. The iraq part confused me but I get it now. Nice.

I said I was proud of the website that I’ve made for my school.

wow. I wrote that I was proud of finally being able to use chopsticks. XD

I haven’t seen this year’s short response prompts this year since my daughter applied last year. This actually looks like a reasonable question to ask someone.

My favorite “getting to know you” question is “Describe one of your scars and how you got it.” What were the other short answer prompts for Yale this year, if you don’t mind my asking?

Please respond in 25 words or fewer to each of the questions below.

Hahah yes, teeth…but like I said, just a bit creepy. I ended up writing about “my ability to pack huge amounts of luggage into tiny suitcases” :D

“Describe one of your scars and how you got it.”

I wonder if anyone put down something along the lines of “Seventeen years ago, on a dark night, You-Know-Who came to Godric’s Hollow…”

EDIT: help, I’ve forgotten how to quote things again!

HAHA that godric’s hollow answer made me laugh really hard. now i’m really tempted to do that.

lookbeyond - chopsticks LOVE IT
