For our schools summer reading assignment for AP lang and comp,
“Narratives of Frederick Douglass” is on the list.

I bought a book called “Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass”, and is it the same thing as the summer requirement.

Im wondering if the book I bought is only one narrative of a collection in “the narratives of frederick douglass”, or are they both the same thing. This is strange cause theyre wordered differently.

if ur talking about “narrative of life of FD”…WORST BOOK EVER

i had to read it last year for english…its HORRIBLE and boring

sorry to be discouraging but i hated it…and thus got behind in reading lol so i ultimately had to sparknotes it the day b4 my test on it…lol just cuz it took me like 10 mins to read like 2 pages cuz i kept getting sidetracked

there are three different volumes of autobiography, but only the first one is widely read because it concerns his time as a slave which really wasn’t done by any other escaped slaves

It is sad you dismiss a book yall have to much to learn from as ‘boring’.

What if I dismissed most of American History as 'boring, you’d get personally offended as well…****, the most all of you know about black culture and history is probably BET. Its a shame.

I also have that summer assignment for AP English Lang & Comp

haven’t read the book yet but it seems interesting…i mean when does a slave teach himself how to read and write, then escape and be able to write his own autobiography? that sounds fascinating.
