They got their just desserts but I wish he had not obscured their faces on-camera so we could see what the thieves look like. And did you notice the variety of burglars? Romantic couple, high school slacker, obnoxious harpy, middle-aged guy in shorts…
By the way, what ever happened to the burglar who was caught on camera in the Seattle suburbs last year in the act of falling to the ground on the victim’s wet lawn and breaking her foot?
I DID notice the variety of criminals. Sad to say… It truly is a diversified world–you can’t trust anybody on looks.
I hope the fart spray was extra strength too. And long lasting. I love that one thief threw the offending package into the trunk of the car–and then the fart spray kept coming.
Sad they were so dismayed only for their own crisis. “MY CAR, MY CAR!!!” (Yeah, it’ll be quite awhile to clean that out–totally deserved).
Love to know if any of them learned any type of lesson except “maybe we’ll skip that porch…”
9 - they would be fools to retaliate knowing that this guy's got the engineering skills to come up with a harmless booby trap that can leave the retaliator tarrred and feathered. Plus, like the crimes of the wet bandits in the referenced movie, these crooks' former porch piratings could be revealed... :)
Absolutely loved it. Thought I heard one guy say something like, “We shouldn’t have done that.” I hope it did discourage those thieves from stealing any more packages.
In response to blurring faces–more than one person has posted video of porch pirates asking for identification of the culprits. Just don’t know the results. And good for them. I don’t know why they didn’t.
We’re moving closer to a solution I think–I’m getting immediate e-mails from a company to say a package is delivered.
That helps because I retrieve it pretty fast.

I love using Amazon’s mailbox delivery at Whole Foods for this reason! Plus it’s a built in excuse to get a cherry turnover while I’m there. =P~

I don’t know if it has made national news but on our local news this morning in MD was video of a 5 y/o girl stealing. a package in Baltimore suburb. Apparently it was at her father’s urging-he was identified and arrested. He won’t be getting Father of the year award. I have a few choice words for someone who does that to his kid.
@MaineLonghorn – I’m laughing. Showed my engineer son and he had previously seen/admired that “winning” dartboard. The fartspray was new, very intriguing (like I could see the wheels spinning) and icing on the cake!
