Nashville, the TV show

Yes, the Green Leafe.

I think Luke was just mad that Deacon came in and behaved so well, from Luke’s POV potentially inserting himself into Rayna’s affections once more. Luke has been carrying a torch for Rayna for a long time. I would not believe that he would do anything to attack Rayna or Deacon through Maddie.

And then there’s Scarlett’s breakdown on stage. Holy Cow! I was proud of her when she sang Black Roses to her mother. I was hoping that the mother would go away. But she is really a vicious person, isn’t she?

I thought this was a great episode.

^ Yes I agree with all of this. Luke can see the writing on the wall. After all these years, Rayna still can’t or won’t let Deacon go.

I was hoping Scarlett would follow up her song by telling her mama to hike herself on out of there.

If that’s all there is, why did Luke told his driver to drive him to the airport?

I didn’t want to read this thread until I caught up with back episodes. I love this show - I hope it will be renewed and would love to see Rayna and Deacon together down the line.

So none of us understood why Luke was so mad! I hope they “review” in tonight’s episode so we can figure it out.

I’m not really interested in Rayna’s love life right now, but I really like Juliet & Avery. Hope she doesn’t screw it up right away!

I thought he was mad because of a long-standing history/dislike of Deacon, who comes out shining again.

@Youdon’tsay - that’s what I thought. That he’s jealous given the history.

In last night’s rerun, Luke seemed to like Deacon and invited him to open for him. Not getting the “long-standing history” part, but I do remember him asking Rayna if she’s sure he’s “history” a while back.

Besides, he didn’t say he was going anywhere to Rayna and yet he was driving to the airport.

Loved the song that Will and Sara Evans sang together, but I’m not sure they haven’t jumped the shark the last two weeks. The idea of Teddy chumming up with Jeff Fordham and the “escorts” is really beyond what I can believe. I am also not caring for what they are doing with Maddie. However, I am liking how they are developing the relationship between Scarlett and the homeless guy.

A little too much cross-promotion for my taste - last night’s episode promoted GMA, the CMA awards show and Dancing with the Stars! Still enjoying, but wish they could stick to the story lines and dial back on promoting other ABC shows.

I agree with both of you. Teddy’s storyline is unbelievable, and the cross-promotion with other ABC shows is shallow and unnecessary.

The whole story line is getting kind of predictable and tired…Connie and Hayden are the only reasons I’m still watching. Maybe the new “nanny” will bring some interest, no doubt she’ll have an affair with one of the men…

It’s getting silly. They also are always having to rush home in the middle of their tours.

I still love it. One of my good friends just ran into “Luke Wheeler” at lunch this week.

Anybody – besides me – still watching Nashville? I can’t believe this thread doesn’t have more recent comments on it.

Question about this week’s episode: when Rayna goes to see Teddy in prison because of Maddie’s court business, was that the same actor playing Teddy?? He looked awful! I mean, I understand that if you’re in prison, you may not be as spiffed up as when you were the mayor, but the man looked ill. Very puffy face, like people get when they’re taking steroids. The voice sounded the same, but the actor looked terrible.

Me! Love it! I’m not sure. I assumed it was still the same guy, but he did look terrible. Maybe not!

I’m still watching. That was Eric Close and I assumed he looked different because he has been doing other things now that he’s no longer a regular and they wanted to make him look a little less polished. I like what I’m seeing with Juliette, but hate what is going on with Maddie. Also, not fond of Deacon’s temper tantrums. I read somewhere that if it gets renewed, they were getting new show runners, so maybe better storylines in the future.

Love it! Like the Scarlett and Gunnar romance reigniting. Like the Will Lexington storyline.
