Nashville, the TV show

Love Scarlett and Gunnar getting back together, hapoy for Will and good for Luke, nervous about Juliette and Deacon and Maddie. Loving the music and I’m no country fan.

Avery and Layla…nooooooooooo

I started this thread and am still watching! And this weekend, ds2 is driving 11 hours to Nashville to interview for internships.

That was the same actor playing Teddy. I was happy to see him.

I like Scarlett and Gunnar together.

The Maddie storyline makes me sad. Daphne is going to be permanently damaged, I fear.

Happy about Scarlet and Gunnar, mad about Maddie, Avery and Layla, please doG no! I want Avery with Juiette.

Poor Daphne.

Cancelled!! At least I was prepared for the finale of Good Wife. Two episodes left.

:frowning:

Though, this will keep me from having to see Maddie melt down. I guess it’s a good thing.

Will did an amazing job last night. He is a talented kid. I think the show is actually getting better so I wish they would give it one more season before pulling the plug. :frowning: I thought I saw Rayna in a preview for an upcoming new series.

I actually thought this week’s episode was better. I’m at the good riddance point with Maddie.

I am so sad that it is cancelled. I loved the show, loved the presence of all the actors here in my town and hate that a lot of people around here are losing their jobs that were connected to the show. I will miss it so much. We talk about Deacon around here like he is “real”. There was often confusion a year or so ago about whether people were discussing the upcoming Nashville mayor election or rather who was going to replace Teddy. I know- we need to get a life!

Can’t say I’m not surprised. At times, it doesn’t seem like the writers know where they want the show to go. And I’m tired of on-again, off-again Rayna and Deacon.

I have hated how they gave Deacon anger management issues this season. Mixed feelings here.

I know you are right about Nashville affection for the actors, MOWC. Charles Esten played The Party Wednesday night for Vandy grads and families.

I read today that while ABC canceled it, there might be a next season on another channel. I hope so.

They are shopping the show around. Here’s hoping! My fear is they won’t film here. Not sure the city can give enough incentives for a lesser network to afford it.

I hope it gets picked up somewhere, too, even if just long enough to wind up all the plots. I think it’s so disrespectful to the loyal viewers for a network to cut off a show in midstream. Either warn the producers at the beginning of the season that the season finale should make sense as a potential series finale, just in case (other shows with iffy ratings have done that), or greenlight a short additional season to wrap things up. And to make things worse, I’ve heard rumors that the last episode ends with a cliffhanger!

I was sad to read that Hayden Panettiere is still not well. I’m sure concerns about her availability for another season factored into the cancellation decision. For me, she and Jonathan Jackson far outshine the rest of the cast, and Hayden’s absence for so many episodes was a real blow to the show.

I’m sick to death of Scarlet, personally. And Layla. Scarlet and Gunnar should get back together and just perform some damned music. Layla should just go away.

But there are so many great performers on the show, notably Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Will Chase, and Hayden Panatierre. And the guy who plays Will.

I will miss it. I still haven’t gotten over the cancellation of Smash. :frowning:

OMG - I also loved Smash! Wherever Layla goes next, I hope she does it with a different color hair.

Perhaps Hulu will pick it up as they did The Mindy Project. If so, I hope the new showrunners come with it. Could be a great show but it has turned into All My Children with a country music twist…actually I think AMC had more character development.

I watched Nashville faithfully and I will miss the music. However I will not miss:

Maddie being a brat

Juliette trying to be “nice” and never succeeding.

Deacon falling off the wagon and/or fighting.

Scarlett and Gunner fighting over stupid stuff.

Will trying to act gay.

Layla pouting about her career.

It’s too bad. Nashville is one my favorite cities and with some better writing this show could have been great.

@TrixieAnn, you nailed it! :slight_smile:
