National College Match - 2009-2010

If you submit an extension form and it is approved, it sounds like you will be able to finish your app. And, that you can apply for this extension as late as 10/4.

i dont see the note! and now im freaking out… once again

[QuestBridge Home Page](http://questbridge.org/)

Wow. That’s an even longer technical issues extension period than I expected. Get right to finishing those applications, all the same. Kudos to QuestBridge for being so generous about adjusting the deadline.

Next step for anyone who hasn’t ranked colleges is to submit a list of college rankings for the National College Match process. Some students will also want to submit the optional essays for the optional Quest for Excellence specialized awards,

[QuestBridge National College Match Program](http://www.questbridge.org/students/program.html#excellence)

if their interests fit the scope of one or more of those awards.

Wait… so why did I just waste the last two weeks of my life and $40 applying to Stanford and Yale? Ugh. I need to stop reading this thread. There is hope.

^^^^^^^^

You can’t win the lottery if you don’t buy a ticket.

And the experience seems to be that QuestBridge finalists fared very well in the regular admission round too, including getting admission to colleges that didn’t match them in the National College Match round. And, as before, going through the QuestBridge process helps you know yourself better and be very prepared for the regular round admission process anywhere. It’s good practice for applying to colleges that aren’t QuestBridge partner colleges.

Do anyone of you receive something like this? THE EXTENSION UNTIL OCTOBER 8th!!!

Hello,

We have granted you an extension of the deadline to submit your National College Match application until Thursday, October 8 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time.

Please note that access to your application will temporarily be suspended from October 1 at 12:00 a.m. to October 2 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. You will be able to access your application again after this time.

This extension also applies to all of the documents that your teachers and counselor are submitting to us in relation to your application: teacher and counselor recommendations (submitted online or by fax), school profile, transcript, and standardized test scores.

Kind regards,
The QuestBridge Team

Wow. I wonder how much that rolls back QB’s process for selecting finalists. It sounds like crunch time in the QB offices. Maybe it’s time too to review the design of the database servers on the QB website.

I don’t see how they could move it back because the turnaround time for getting materials to the ranked schools already is so tight. I would guess those who got their materials in early are being reviewed first and then on down the line …

If it says “completed” by the teacher, does it mean that they submitted it?

PoW, yes…Completed is what you want to see (something I know all too well!)

October 8th??? Wow

I already submitted mine at 3AM this morning. I also put in an extension request.

If I see mistakes / make changes, could I resubmit my application, up until the 8th? Or do I not count in this extension because I’ve already done everything?

^ I submitted mine at 3AM, too, but had send in an extension request earlier.

They emailed me this morning, giving me an extension.
I was wondering the same thing… whether ours is now considered submitted, or can we make changes?

Alright, I seem to have answered my own question:

When I log back into Questbridge, I see “View Application in HTML” and “Completed”, but I no longer see anything about editing my app. I guess that means I’m done! Yay! Good luck to everyone.

And I submitted my rankings…

 1. Yale
 2. Stanford
 3. Penn
 4. Columbia

I’m pretty sure I have a 99% chance of being rejected by all of them, but hey, it’s worth the giggling hope. The only other school I’ll RD in Questbridge is Emory.

They did say that the application would not be open from this morning to tomorrow afternoon though.
If “Edit app” comes back on again, I guess we can then…?

hmm good point, i have no idea

For past QB people, if we apply for the CSS waiver, it says we have to help with activities, etc. Anyone know how much of a time commitment this is? It’s not like a huge amount of time is it? If it’s more than however many hours I would need to work at my job to get the same amount of money, I dont think it’d be worth it.

natim1,

I’m curious as well. No one in my area has ever heard of QuestBridge, which will either bode well or poorly for my duties.

Wait the non-custodial waiver doesn’t go to QB for finalist consideration does it? Because if so i am totally screwed.
