Almond Joy in a sugar cone for me - coconut flavored ice cream with coconut flakes, swirls of chocolate and chocolate covered almonds. Worth it.

Yes, we did! H and I selected a gourmet ice cream shop 15 miles away and rode our bicycles there to cancel out some of the calories. Amaretto cherry for me!

McDonald’s had free cones today, but you had to download and app and it seemed complicated, so I just went to Dairy Queen instead. Blizzard.

Darn, I’m an ice cream lover, but none today. Recently I’ve found a great Ice cream. It’s called Volt (brand) Higher Ground, or something like that. It’s a coffee base, and has chocolate and I don’t know what else in it. I add almonds, and its to die for. harris Teeter has is bogo this week (normal price is over 5 bucks a pint), but they seem to have so,d out of that flavor before I got mine.
You guys convinced me - having a dark chocolate covred vanilla bar St Petersburg style from the local Euro deli.

Timely question. For a short interval each year, a local ice cream company makes my all time favorite, Peppermint Stick. Saw it at the market yesterday and bought a gallon. Not as good as the original from Howard Johnson’s, but it’s as close as I can get. (My current fav at the actual ice cream shop is Kulfi. Had that the other day, if that counts.)
BB, no idea what St Petersburg style is, but I hear the Russians are bonkers for ice cream.
I had no idea it was National Ice cream day but I bought a carton of Peanut Butter Pandemonyesterday thinking I’d have some after dinner but was too full. I’ll hopefully make up for it today.

I went to an ice cream parlor last night and the line was long! They have some unusual flavors so I indulged in a scoop of lavender honey.
We stopped at a frozen custard/yogurt place yesterday, and we didn’t realize it was NICD when we stopped. Not sure if it counts for us, though … I got frozen yogurt & H got Italian ice …
