@thshadow – you did work hard! Much appreciate all your thoughtful efforts – BUT I really hope some of your predictions are too high!!!
Me too.
(I know DS 216 probably isn’t going to make it. But like Mulder, I want to believe!)
^^The truth is out there
Literally. It’s sitting in a mail truck somewhere…
DS16 missed it by 2 points last year. It was quite a disappointment (the cutoff jumped up 3 points from the previous year).
DS17 is now waiting for his news.
Good luck to everyone!
@CA1543 - I also hope those predictions are too high!! But it was the only way that my script could get the commended score of 209.
I can tweak things so that it predicts the CA cutoff will be as low 217 - YAAY!!! - but then I think that would imply that the commended score should be 202 - which conflicts with essentially the only fact that we actually have.
@thshadow — Well whatever happens is not because of your predictions!! And we have been told to ignore the concordance table for class of 2017 so there’s that. Now – where is that mail truck???
@CA1543…yes, where is the mail trucks at? L-)
Do we need to make a list list this: and then anyone who wants to report cutoff numbers that made it for SF from their state can do so, and as other people from each state report in, then lower numbers may be posted also? If some of y’all agree, I will type the list
ALABAMA -
ALASKA -
ARIZONA -
ARKANSAS -
CALIFORNIA -
@thshadow – I didn’t see a CT prediction. Any thoughts? Just curious to see how your predictions line up with final outcome.
@theshadow, care to make a prediction for SI cutoff at truly national level? Forget state SI cutoffs, what would the SI need to be for top 16K SF, irrespective of state?
@OHToCollege I think it would be a fairly high number, 217-218 at last.
@2kidsinky …someone needs to start a list…i think.
I wish we had a reason to start a list (like someone got a letter!) Going to try and stay off CC for a while today. Driving myself crazy
NMSC should introduce a truly national merit scholarship. As an example, top 5K students in the country, no matter what their domicile…
I think the Walton high school in Cobb county is in for a very pleasant surprise this year. Possibly 50+ SF. Someone look for a letter to Walton!

You can already fill WY and WV. 209
Don’t forget to include poor little DC, which will automatically have the highest cutoff in the country (probably equivalent to NJ).

Thanks for catching that!
Do we know for sure that WY and WV will always be the commended (as opposed to maybe one higher)? Sorry for resurrecting an old debate!
