National Merit Cutoff Predictions Class of 2017

@madredos Are you saying there isn’t a place in the portal that shows missing items such as test scores?

@Dolemite there is not. Check with NMSF directly. CollegeBoard will indicate whether the request was processed and fulfilled, but only the recipient can confirm that they have the scores.

@slaudsmom - True! Great example of not setting a good example - way to go, school.

I just wanted to update my post #1632, in which I very confidently said:

"For those discussing whether it is likely Walton High School in Georgia could dramatically increase the number of NMSF over last year, just consider that, while last year (2016 program) they had only 16 NMSF, the year before (2015 program) they had a whopping 25, and the year before that (2014 program) they had only 13. So, in short, Walton’s total can swing wildly from one year to the next.

While I doubt they could double their number for the 2017 program, they could conceivably increase it by as many as 9 or 10, since they did that just two years ago."

Turns out I was wrong. They had a record-breaking 39 NMSF this year, which more than doubled the number they had last year.

@slaudsmom Don’t worry. Our high school has until the end of the month as well. The counselor requests an extension of the deadline every year because of the amount of work it takes to enter all the courses and grades for 30+ semifinalists. The National Merit people understand and don’t mind.

@Dolemite - No, there is not. You must call them directly to verify that your scores have been received. They are very nice on the phone.

Okay…has anyone gotten letters from NM about not being NMF? I heard students are getting them in the mail…I so hope we don’t get anything in the mail for a few weeks.

@3scoutsmom …Thank you. Yes, I will go check that out now. I have been out of the loop for while.
