Navy-Army Game : The Important Stuff

"Navy sucks. Therefore, Army beats Navy.

This is logic? Sounds more like denial and wishful thinking.

I’m sure WPSON2010 has a Latin term for the malady."

Of course there’s a Latin term for this, it’s called Fanicus Delerioum; a malady for which there is neither a cure nor a need for one. Of course the Navy fans suffer from a far more serious affliction know in Latin as Midnofloatatilius, and in the later stages also know as Navysinkonfridayeum.

Of course the Latins couldn’t have know that Army-Navy games occur on Saturday, not Friday. Today we would call the later stages Navysinkonsaturdayeum.

How cool is this…

Two of the pilots in the Navy flyover on Saturday are West Point grads. (interservice transfers)

Is this a great country or what!

Or we could simply conclude that the Army guys don’t know how to read a calendar. ;)

I envy all you parents that will be able to attend the game–have a great time cheering for your team (ARMY) and I hope that your team wins (ARMY). I have decided that I will spend the day here in southern California, in bed, watching on the big screen—one full day of football–Army/Navy and then USC gets to throttle UCLA—
I LOVE IT!!!

“The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco”. Even if Mark Twain didn’t say it, the sentiment is almost correct. It should read however “The coldest winter I ever spent was four hours at the Army-Navy game”. Never in my life have I been so cold, miserable and elated. Nothing like sitting high enough to chat with the pilots as they stroll by for a peak, on a solid block of ice because it snowed the night before, windchill in the negative area, as well as every other conceivable area of my body. Sorry to miss being there this year, but as the plaque in our house reads, eat, drink and beat Navy!

My baby has something she wants to tell ya’ll. Class of 2028!!

Pretty cool!! Congrats Grandma JM!

Ahhhhh! Victory! :D

;)

With 6:46 to go in the UCLA/USC game it looks like you might finish the day 0-2. That’s zero for a big fat goose egg. Sorry.

(No, I’m not counting out USC. They are like a dangerous dog – they’re not dead until they are cold and dead.)

(I’m deeply torn. I always like watching UCLA beat USC, but I would really like to see a Pac 10 team in the national championship game. So, USC has to win by one in overtime. Honor is satisfied, and USC moves on.)

Jamzmom - Congratulations on becoming a grandma!

I’m disappointed that Army lost but at least it was a good game and not a blow out.

I picked up “Moon Pie” & held up her wee little hand & waved it around & said, “Beat Army” & it worked! I have a magical baby!! I feel sure that trick will work again next year.

No Grandma for me. Please. I’m dyin’ here. She’ll have to call me Mrs. J or Na-Na or something of that sort. :D

Ohhh the pain…

Tsu Mu .

Well, we got an interesting call from our Yuk daughter yesterday during the game. When she called I noticed it was a bit quiet in the background and asked her if she was in the stands watching the game. She replied that “no” she was watching the game on TV in the “VIP room” munching on free food less than two feet from the Vice Chaiman of the Joint Chiefs and Donald Rumsfeld (among others). Turns out that since she was on the Army marathon team that ran the game ball down from WP to Philadelphia she had a sort of “backstage pass” in the locker room areas and other “parts”. She and a couple of her cohorts managed to talk their way past the “guard” in the VIP room, who my daughter evidently knows, and watched the game in relative comfort and “rarified air” . I guess everyone in the room assumed they were someone’s “guests” from the academy. Hmmmmmmm…

I have a picture of some Cadets in the room, but no female Cadet, she was probably in the chow line.

Would have had more pictures but the “new” batteries I put in the camera ran out.

She may as well have been. When you are on the verge of losing that game, your side gets very, very quiet. It’s almost spooky.

Frankly, it sucks.

LFWB Dad–yeah she said they were hanging out with the food.

I wish I had known, I would have said hi.

Maybe next year.

JM!!! You are a grandma!!! How did I miss this!!! How come this is not on a thread of it’s own???

You must be THRILLED!!! how wonderful- Christmas will no doubt be “extra special” this year!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :)
