NC State 2024 Admission Thread

Many students have dropped out of the NCSU honors college because it is not what it once was. The Honors College dorms are extremely small, NCSU recently added a charge to be in the program and NCSU no longer gives Honors College students advance access to registration - which was an important perk at a such a large university where top students are all trying to make efficient progress toward their degrees. Now it is hard for Honors College students to get the classes they need to graduate. Also, many of the older Engineering students (who already pay a hefty extra fee for the Engineering major) dropped out of the Honors College when NCSU altered things about two years ago and made the requirements higher(!) for the enrolled engineering students to apply. Staff said the NCSU Honors College had “too many Engineering students.”

From the NCSU website: GPA of 3.6 or higher (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Engineering and College of Science) or 3.5 or higher (College of Design, College of Education, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Natural Resources, College of Textiles, Exploratory Studies, and Poole College of Management)
