NC State 2024 Admission Thread

Feeding off your question here as well, but is 3/30 the actual decision date, or will we possibly hear before then? Im just waiting anxiously. It’s one of the last few school, and if I get in, likely my choice since it’s in-state. I know some schools tell you before the marked decision date, I’m just not sure if State does or not.

Going off past years it looks like regular decision may come out a week earlier than the March 30 deadline but I’m hoping sooner!

@mbgaff

Me as well! I’ve heard back from all my schools except State! I really hope they let us know sooner than the 30th!

My son was accepted but didn’t get any information on an Accepted Students Day.

hi - I got deferred from NC state as well. It’s frustrating to wait till end of March.

Does anybody know how good their Business / Finance Account school is? It’s much smaller than UNC or even USC - but wanted to check if anyone knew how the school was?

@Milliev It’s on the portal, on the right-hand side. If it doesn’t work the first time you click (takes you to the Enrollment page), go back and try again, clicking on the words below Register…it’s finnicky.

@brightgreen18 I also applied RD as a Finance major. Does anyone have insight on the NC State business program?

Any idea when financial aid and merit notifications will go out?

I think April 1st for scholarships

Anyone have insight into scholarships for OOS? Not in need of a full ride but $5-10k a year would at least put it in contention. Looks like there is Park or nothing for OOS freshmen.

Not not much merit available. There were some departmental scholarships to apply for…I think the deadline was early February.

Thanks @doodlewrangler those have been applied for but it is very unclear what potential amounts are or if OOS students ever win them.

We are OOS and in the same boat! Any $ would be a nice surprise. We just ran our daughter’s AP/DE credits past the advisor and verified that she could graduate early. That may be our way of making it affordable. Fingers crossed for both our kids!

I think last year they came out on the 24th. I agree-waiting this long is very frustrating because they need to start looking for roommates, picking dorms, signing up for admitted student day, etc. I honestly wish they either accepted or denied EA-no deferral. Someone told me a couple of years ago that State defers the majority of EA kids because they don’t have the staff to go through all of the applications, so the majority get deferred to give more time to look at all of the apps.

I see in the financial aid folder on the portal under communication, that a financial aid letter was sent out today. (Initial financial aid offer 03/11/2020 Letter)
Is there any way of finding a copy of it? Or does it have to come in the physical mail?

@ACatSLP I would like to know this as well! I’m praying that it is affordable for my son who is OOS.

@coco3611 I just looked at the finacial letter and nothing no money given at all and not even loan information. I figured it would be like this so my son will be moving on to another choice

Where did you find the letter?

@jgwolf where was the letter? My son looked on the portal and couldn’t find it.
