NC State Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

I GOT IN! LET’S GO! Good luck everyone & congratulations!

@owlLena97 Congratulations!! So glad the wait was worth it for you! I submitted my midterm grades and am preparing for the wait all over again. May 15th seems so far away!

@itsmejess1 thanks so much! Don’t worry you will get in! You will probably get it a little before 5/15. What major did you apply for? Good luck!

@owlLena97 Business Administration - Finance

@itsmejess1 Looks like we are going for the same thing. I tried asking them very specific questions as best I could about our situation and they just gave vague answers sadly. I wonder when we will hear back. I feel like there was no one denied this go around, just deferred haha (not meaning being deferred is a rejection)

@RangerRick175 They were very vague with me too. I feel the same way about the denials. I haven’t seen one person post that they’ve been denied. At first I was excited to be deferred and not denied, but now I’m feeling a little more uncertain. Did you notice in the stats they released, they didn’t actually give a number of students accepted? I would assume we’d hear back after May 1st when they see how many people accept.

@itsmejess1 Yeah I feel like more time might have been needed to go through everything, still not a comforting feeling though haha I think its interesting though that it seems like not too many people have posted if they got in or not on here compared to previous years. Of those that have, I haven’t seen one Poole applicant.

I do wish there was more info that would give us a clear difference between midterm and spring grade requests.

Submitted my midterm grades but not sure if I’ll be attending NCSU in the fall if I get accepted. The wait has kinda made me lose interest… However, that may change if I do wind up getting in.

@Starfoxx87 have you heard back from any other schools you applied to? Also, what did you apply for?

@RangerRick175 I have heard back from all schools I have applied to. NCSU is the only one left I’m waiting on. Rejected at UNC. Accepted at App State, UNCW, Campbell, Baylor, and TCU. I got deffered at NCSU for Nutrition Science Pre-Med pending my midterm grades.

@Starfoxx87 Congrats on being accepted to so many schools! Were you deferred for midterm or spring grades? Curious to know if anyone knows the difference. Doesn’t sound like the admissions office is offering up explanations on the difference between the two.

I think that the midterm grades is them just asking for more time or they just wanted to see how our grades are. Spring grades might be lower gpa or something since their deadline lines up with waitlist type of applicants.

@RangerRick175 You’re probably right. I’m not sure we’ll ever actually know for sure. I’m rooting for all of us here that were deferred. Did you apply anywhere else?

@itsmejess1 I was deferred for midterm grades. I feel bad for the students that were deferred for final grades that have to wait until mid June for a decision.

@itsmejess1 Yeah I applied and was accepted into UT-Austin, both Umass schools, Columbia, and a few others. I really want to go to NCSU though since I have a lot of friends there and lived in Georgia for 5 years and kind of miss the south haha

@Starfoxx87 I feel bad too. That’s a really long time to wait.

Has anyone an idea when they will update their decision? I am under pressure because another college I applied to is awaiting a decision from me (05/01/2020 to be precisely) . I don’t want to make one yet without knowing if I got into NC State but I also don’t want to lose that seat with the other college because that is my plan B. HELP ;(((((

@Winterbreak email state and tell them your exact situation and they may be able to tell you your decision early. You will need solid proof that you have another college waiting and you do not want to lose your seat there either, and then they will most likely show you your result. Good Luck!!!

@Winterbreak I would go ahead and put down a deposit for that school already. I highly doubt NCSU would give you your decision early since most if not all of us are in that same predicament. You can forgo your spot at another institution if you get into state, but you might not get your deposit back. But better safe than sorry. I’m about to put my deposit in at another school this week.

I have not received an Email that states I have to pay a deposit. As of now all I know is that I have to register for SOAR (Student orientation) to gain access to an advisor, class registration etc.

EDIT:

I just found out that I do not need to pay a deposit. Sorry for the confusion.
