NCAA Basketball Tourney for CC Parents

Mods, sorry if this post is inappropriate. Please delete if it is. :o

Does anyone know how to make an online bracket pool for the NCAA tournament? I think it could be fun for there to be a “CC group” for us to make predictions and play against each other. No betting. Just bragging rights for the winner.

I regret I’m too daff on these things to be an organizer. But, if anyone else is willing, please step up. I’d love to play along/against my cyber friends.

Someone usually does this. lderochi, IIRC. I’ve done it the past two years!

If someone does end up doing this, PLEASE remind me not to pick Syracuse after today…

rodney - that’s why they call it March Madness - lol. Big win for Georgetown.

I am not allowed to speak of college basketball in my house this year. My husband, father in law, sister in law, et al, all went to UNC–chapel hill…There is no joy in mudville this year. But, if someone were to put something on here, where my “imaginary friends” (as H calls you guys) hang out, then I could still play ;)

poetgrl - OUCH! rough year for Carolina.
come and play - we’ll keep your secret! ;)

I’m in. I just have to be home before the streetlights come on. :)

Uh, try being a Longhorn this year. Rated no. 1 a few weeks and now – BOOM --not even ranked.

I hope lderochi comes back for this!

Oh man, feel for the longhorn fans this year, too. Really feel for the spouses of the longhorn fans. :(

Oh yeah? Try being a fan in the Pac 10 this year. It’s awful! I just read an analysis in the LA TImes suggesting that only the required one school make make it to the 65. USC is on probation, UCLA is in shambles, who knows what’s happened with WA and AZ. Let’s just say Pac 10 teams have had a hard time this year against top 25 teams.

okay, well I feel awful for the PAC 10 teams this year, too. But, I feel worst of all about the tarheels because I have to live with so many of them. The only thing they would consider worse is if Duke were to actually win the NCAA. At that point, I actually think I would have to get my husband an apartment for the year with his father. :p

On a happier note, the Big East is a pile of fun this year – six or seven teams that could beat everyone or no one (see above re: Syracuse). And it’s great to see Fran Dunphy getting some traction with Temple.

poetgirl: I feel your pain since I’m a UConn fan…we also went from the final four to out of the tournament. At least we have the Uconn women…go Huskies.

It’s been a fun year for me, with “ties” to many good teams. Grew up in Syracuse (go Orange), live near Philly ('Nova and Temple), with D2 going to Pitt next year. If anyone posts a bracket, I’ll play!

Paging lderochi. Lderochi, please report to the Cafe.

I’m glad there’s so much interest. This will be fun!

Shellfell the women at Uconn can play ball! One of my D’s best friends from her AAU team is being recruited by UCONN. D is very impressed! I like UConn, though I always feel like they should have joined the ACC instead of Boston. They’d have been such a good fit! Good luck to your women’s team.

UConn women are impressive. Unlike our men’s team, they always play with intensity, even when they’re winning by 30. It’s a great atmosphere for any recruit so your D’s friend would be very fortunate to go there. We’ve gone to many games over the years & have even been to 2 final fours, when, of course, they won.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk…KU!!!

Okay, my-3-sons-- we’re all just going to try to pretend we didn’t hear that!

Yes, Shellfell, if my D wasn’t being recruited for soccer, I think she would be focusing on basketball and UConn would be a clear choice, or Tennessee, obviously, or UNC??? All great coaches.
