NE people - are we ready/excited for SNOW this weekend?

I think I know what direction you are, you got about 9”?

I just need to add…my picture above is a color picture. It looks like black and white!

We are west of Boston. Actually in Worcester county. I haven’t been out for a while but at 6:30 it was about 5” of heavy snow. It’s been coming down steady since then.

I had just seen on the news that Worcester got 9”.

Been there, done that. I’m enjoying taking care of my one horse here at my house these days.

“Today will go into the record books tied for 2nd latest 1st inch of snow in Portland, Maine. Records go back 133 years.”

The record was January 16 in 2000.

ShawWife, who grew up in Quebec, absolutely loves snow. When she sees fresh snow, she is just joyous. I, on the other hand, find it very pretty – especially now that we are on the river surrounded by conservation land and can’t see the street from our house. However, we have a very long driveway and I have outsourced the plowing and shoveling. So, I go out for fun or necessary meetings.

Here, midway between Boston and Providence, we got about 6 inches of heavy cement by 11 AM. Went out to shovel that (couldn’t quite finish before it started to snow heavily again).

Went in for lunch and it really snowed hard again. Waited until it slowed down ~4PM and there was another 4 inches, but the new stuff was light and fluffy.

Cleaning off the cars was another matter----ugh.

We got about a foot of snow here. Absolutely gorgeous - it did take H about an hour to clear the driveway last night.

Several trees/branches are almost touching the ground with the weight of the snow. Neighbor’s tree has several broken branches. My weeping willow might not recover from this storm :frowning:

We got about 16" here, about 25mi NNW of Boston. Light and fluffy for the most part thankfully.

Yep–NNW of Boston. My town got 16 inches.

And later today into tomorrow, we in southern New England will be getting a TON of rain…

Ha that could be my back yard!

Here are a couple of shots from our backyard.

The rain today is melting a lot of the snow. The ducks seem happier.

It’s amazing how much snow was washed away by the rain (and 50 degree temp)
