I was accepted by Umass fall admission but due to financial difficulty (which 10k was needed more) i deffered my admission until spring term.
Currently i’m senior in mongolian university so i can go for master’s degree from (purdue, umass, cornell etc). But i don’t know weither these schools accept mongolian degree or not.
Alternatively i can study in average school from spring term and transfer to stanford, cornell, duke etc ( if i accepted to these my tuition will be paid by government).
Last option is save my money for one umass semester After i recieve my gpa ( which i believe 3.5 or higher) and find scholarship.
Lots of mongolian student study in umass thanks to government scholarship. But this year they omitted umass. Maybe next year government change their mind but chance is less than 30%( in my opinion).
U mass is a state university so there is zero chan you will get any FA( merit money maybe but certainly not enough)
Why cant you finish degree in your contry?
Were you accepted to UMass as a transfer student or for a ‘study abroad’ program?
And when you say “Alternatively i can study in average school from spring term and transfer to stanford, cornell, duke” do you mean continuing as an undergraduate? Do you have a reason to think that you would be accepted to Stanford, Cornell or Duke as a transfer student- and do you mean to stay 2 years to finish your undergraduate degree?
I accepted to Umass as a freshman. Yes continue as undergraduate. Because I already studied half in mongolia my first term gpa will be high (just my opinion). After I finish my bachelor in Mongolia.
So you are thinking of doing a second undergraduate degree because you think that you won’t be able to get in to graduate schools with a Mongolian university degree?
And your government will pay for either an undergraduate or graduate degree as long it is an acceptable university?
What masters degree would you want to do? Are you a top student? what universities are on the list that your government will pay for?
