Please, I would greatly appreciate advice on the following. I am satisfied with my SAT Reasoning score (I took SAT twice), but my ACT is low 26 (I took it once). I have been studying for it and I am confident I would improve it. I am scheduled to take it on December 12, but I just found out today that I have a serious conflict in my schedule. I have a national pre-qualifying event on December 12.
My question: how does a low ACT affect my chances while my SAT Reasoning is strong?
How detrimental is it for my application if I do not re-take ACT?

I am conflicted at what to do: take ACT again or participate in the pre-national qualifier.

Can’t you take the ACT without submitting the scores to anyone, and then decide whether the new score makes the cut? If you hit a home run the second time, pay the extra fee and then send it in.

Thanks for your reply, but I submitted it to four colleges when I took it the first time. I decided to take the test, and I am going to submit it to four colleges again before I know the result. It definitely should improve, and as I submitted the first score (which I should not have done, but it;s too late to think about it now), I am going to submit the second score as well.
